From this point forward, all Discussion forum bans will be accompanied by Site Chat bans.

Dongempire has been banned for two weeks from the site for continued bad-faith use of the pronoun field despite instruction from the moderator team to change it. Dongempire will need to be replaced in any games that Dongempire is currently playing.

To be clear, changing your pronoun for generally any reason -- such as trying a different one out for a day -- is fine, but using the pronoun field to belittle other people's pronouns is not.

Although not a factor in this current ban, please note that any game-based bans (i.e., Mafia, Mish Mash, or Large Social Games) include private topics pertaining to the respective area. In other words,

do not post in private topics related to Mafia games if you are banned from Mafia, and do not post in private topics related to Mish Mash games if you are banned from Mish Mash

NoPowerOverMe has been banned sitewide for one month for transphobia.

Following NoPowerOverMe's previous ban, he interacted with staff and made negative statements about the use of they/them pronouns that would be painful to repeat in this ban announcement. He used incorrect pronouns throughout these interactions. He was warned with specificity that this would cast future mispronounings of similar users in a different light. He was also reminded that pronouns are a matter of respect. We strongly believe in the value of the following community guideline:

Users should make every effort to address people in accordance with their stated gender identity. Mistakes are natural, but unwillingness to try or do better will be construed as creating a hostile space for trans and non-binary users.

Shortly after this warning, NoPowerOverMe continued using incorrect pronouns in a private message to a nonstaff user. He also insinuated that a trans user asked to be referenced with the correct pronoun with disingenuous intentions. Trans (and cis) users request their pronouns as a matter of human respect for identity. Once an inability to use correct pronouns presents itself as anything other than forgetfulness or an instance of confusion, there is zero tolerance for it on mafiascum.net.

He will need to be replaced in any games he is currently in.
