About this Shakespeare's Villains Mafia, I had an idea of a Montague vs. Capulet Mafia. In my mind it should be nightless, and the Capulets have to get Romeo killed while the Montagues' goal is to see Thybalt dead. I have a hazy idea of each family picking a player from the other family, and letting the two chosen players duel somehow. That's how far I got.
Edit: This has the problem of not being interesting to the players who are not Romeo or Thybalt. Also, a family would also win if the montague:capulet ratio reaches 1:2 or 2:1.
Edit: Also, Romeo and Juliet would naturally be lovers, if Juliet dies, both families lose. Also, Mercutio would be a Bodyguard. Also, there could be a third party with Friar Laurence and the Apothecary and some others, Laurence's win condition would be that Romeo and Juliet be alive at the end of the game, the Apothecary's win condition would be that they both die, so on.scumchat never die- Adel

Mayfly Mafia
Basically a normal except that each player only lives for one day, but finds a replacement that will continue on in the role during the second day. All players know which player replaced which player. Mafia are able to kill during the night. Also, each player is able to talk with their replacement during the night.
A key to winning would be finding a good player to replace yourself.- armlx

You would also have good players not signing up because they hope to replace in later so that they can use their skills on analyzing the whole game.Adel wrote:Mayfly Mafia

Except all players are actively searching for replacements too. A 'not finding a replacement means modkill' rule could stimulate them to.Mr. Flay wrote:You'd also be using something close to 5N players instead of N players, which puts a huge strain on 'replacement' finding."This topic needs more CESc." --Vi- shaft.ed

Hellenic Mafia
full of non-deities from mythology and history, along with a few immortal gods who win with one side or another but do not have a vote and do not count for win conditions. God roles will be assigned to players normally burdened by proficiency, all other roles will be assigned randomly as per normal.- Adel

Apologies if you took it as an insult, it was meant more in the critique sentiment of "try to expand your perceptions". I just wasn't sure you had the experience to consider what a hassle finding new players for ongoing games is... but I probably could have worded it better.
Having played in Greek Mafia on GL several years ago, I would gladly co/backup-mod that with you to avoid the chaos that ensued...how's that for making up for my words?Retired as of October 2014.- Zindaras

I would very likely play in a Mafia based on Greek mythology. We have a Greek mythology book which I've read about 10 times. I'm very interested in that.ShowFinished: 159 (120 Town, 33 Mafia, 5 Other, 1 Cult, 4 Cultivated)

Claiming Riverworld Mafia
Loosely based on the Riverworld series (written in the 70s). Basic story premise, everyone who has ever lived in the history of Earth wakes up in their prime (20’s) on a world that has a River running through it. The collection of people are random, but it doesn’t take long before societies start conquering each other while other’s try to seek the meaning of it all. The game would have quite a few “roles” and some random events that might affect game play (was inspired by APR’s House Maifa).
Seeing if there is interest, before I start trying to balance and put together possible story lines and events.annnnd, I am retired.- Adel

Bidding War Mafia
I'm current developing a game heavily based on the auctioning of items. The game would be initially just scum and vanilla townies. Each player would start with a certain amount of money and earn additional income plus 50% interest each day.
There will be items put on auction before and during the game that give players abilities such as dayvigging, cop investigations, bulletproof vests, and lynch immunities. There would be a lot of strategy involved as both town and scum decide whether to spend their money early on attractive abilities or build their cash with the high interest rate to get game-changing abilities later. There will be some items designed to only benefit scum or town, so often times there will be a fine line between preventing opposition from getting specific items and overspending money. Also if players want to, they may put the items they won back into auction to get cash.
Anyone like this idea? The end justifies the means.- Adel

Ok I have thought of a perhaps fun perhaps controversial set up for a game.
9/11 mafia.
Set on a plane with terrorist (mafia) trying to hijack the plane.
There would be two pilots, captain and co pilot.
Mafia win when both pilots are dead and they control the plane.
Town wins when all terrorists are dead.
The pilots would know each other and would be like masons being able to talk to each other.
Town would also have a decent sprinkling of power roles.
And in response to Bidding Wars Mafia.
Would all items have their properties listed or just some. I think it would be more interesting if you didn't know what the item did. This could make for some very interesting bluffs about items when putting them back in for reauction.- Dean Harper

Lord of the Flies Mafia
Each day, a random twist occurs, each having to do with an event in the book.
Each person will be given a role, various characters corresponding to various roles.
For example:
Piggy: You are an outcast from the other Boys. You are rotund and slow, no good at hunting, and wear large glasses. However, you alone hold a special power. The conch. Each night, you may choose one player to protect with the conch.
Each day will begin with the announcement of a twist:
Example:
Dawn breaks on the island once again. You nervously scour your camp to find out if anyone has been beaten to death. You find no one. Still unsatisfied, your leader decides to search the Pig Runs criss-crossing the island. After hours of precious daylight being wasted, you find nothing. As you head back to the camp, you notice something large floating in the water. The mafia are getting bolder. The figure is that of a Lost Boy: _______, a simple townie trying to survive on the island. He has been impaled with a spear, and his yoyo that he always carried is gone.
It is now Day 5. TWIST TIME!
For todays twist, one player is marked for death. You will not find out who this is until he/she is dead. To make it more interesting, you have exactly 100 hours to lynch someone. This deadline is non-negotiable. Have fun, and happy hunting!"If you say live together, die alone to me Jack, I'm gonna punch you in your face."

Ok just a suggestion but i'm sure others might find it fun.
Given in the favourite fictional character tournament Alex DeLarge/Burgess was give a good reception I would like to suggest A Clockwork Orange themed mafia game.
Preferable run by someone with good Nadsat knowledge.
You have your scum group of Alex, Pete, Georgie and Dim and I was thinking that of a cult in reference to the Ludovico treatment.
Anyways a nice game dripping in horrorshow ultraviolence.- thevampireofdusseldorf
