I think scum with decent fakeclaims tend to drop em quicker
scum who end up claiming VT usually seem to try and drag it out

at that point he was either claiming VT (in which case math would just hammer)
or a TPR

honestly I totally missed his hints that he was a TPR, I just thought the wagon was shit and there were some really bad reads against him
