Wanting the day to end before deadline is not a scumtell, fyi. The game state feels stagnant imo, in part because people are not participating. I think a flip will give up good information to work from.

I'm caught up, here are my thoughts:

(going off of the readslist here)
{nsg}
{ofhrz, Draynth}
{Etromin, Ventriloquist, VL, Nachomamma8}
{Harambey180, Ircher}
I'm pretty strongly townreading ofhrz and Draynth off of meta. All three of us just finished an open game together (one in which i did quite a bit of meta diving for draynth), so i feel pretty confident in these. For ofhrz, i'm pretty sure (?) i've played with him in every game he's played since he's joined, and speaking from memory he's playing fairly similarly - similarly enough that if he were scum here i would be very surprised with how little of a difference there was from his town game. For Draynth, he's dropped a few towntells in terms of having gut reads that he maybe can't explain (as opposed to his scumplay in 721 in which he awkwardly overexplained / came up with weak justifications for everything), and even without meta i think this reaction test here is strongly more likely to come from town than scum:

Serious vote
Um... are you going to elaborate on that?
Probably not
As far as I can tell, you put an unprompted vote on me, claiming it was serious, and now you're not going to explain the reasoning and instead switch to someone else? This seems kinda weird to me, but
I'm currently reading it as an attempt at a working pressure vote by pretending it was serious
Pretty much this, I was happy enough with how you reacted

Draynth didn't try to milk any towncred off of it or anything, he just kind of left it at that.

I'm probably being kind of lazy with that middle tier, but just nothing overly stood out to me reading through - at least, not enough for me to want to move anyone there up or down. If anyone wants specific clarification here, just ask.

For the scumreads, I suppose you could call both of them tonereads. Harambey is playing very different from what I remember his play to be like (he was
incredibly
obviously town) - he's a lot more awkward in a way that I feel like comes from scum who just doesn't know what to do. I already brought up the whole point with the weirdness around the Ircher wagon - i know nacho reads that as town, but i really don't see it that way.

Ircher is similar with regards to the awkwardness, this time dealing with Vulcan's joke early in the game. Beyond that though, i really don't like his continued scumreading of vulcan and play around that at the end of the day here.

In post 270, TheRampage wrote:Okay, after reading through this first days stuff, I feel really uncomfortable lynching Vulcan. I feel like this bandwagon came on fast and for days, ofrhz was pushing people towards Vulcan and never even voted him until he was really close. Harambey showed intent to hammer, but if you really want to hammer, just do it. I feel like he posted his intent to do it and appear town by not doing it. ofrhz was really quiet for the most part of the game so far has kept a low profile so far this game. The two of them are brushing me wrong, but I think of the two of them, ofrhz seems the scummiest. So that is where my vote will go.

VOTE: ofrhz
People say they have the 'intent to hammer' when they feel like they might hammer said person upon re-reading their ISO / their posts, but they are often not sure and by saying they have the intent to do it soon, they give the player a chance to claim a role and defend him/herself against the claims made against him.
I never said I really wanted to hammer. I wanted and still want to extend the lynch as long as possible so the day will be as long as possible and Town can potentially get more information.
When someone is at L-1, almost always do players post their 'intent to hammer' first for the main reason to let the person claim their role and defend themselves. This is like the most important rule to follow when a person is on L-1 so you should probably look at some rules or such.

@Rampage
You don't want to lynch Vulcan, do want to lynch ofrhz.
Do you have any other reads on people in the game?

(Because people keep forming new ones instead of commiting to one)
Idk there's been quite a few replacements as well as one extension already, just a pretty stale d1 so far.

The problem I have with this reasoning is that flips don't change the gamestate from apathetic to engaged; chances are we lynch town here and people lynching a townie everyone feels nothing in particular about means more of the same tomorrow, which isn't exactly my goal here.

I also don't think that impatience is a scumtell, just don't find it in the best interests of the town at all here.

I understand not wanting to lynch him in general, but this doesn't really look anything like his open game. In the open game, ofrhz was active and engaged, he played a lot looser than he is here, generally seemed more inquisitive when pressing people. Of course, there are reasons why he could be playing this way as town, but I really don't get two people coming out and declaring him obvious town due to meta.

Does anybody have any experience with Ircher?

@Draynth - are here other benefits to not lynching beside denying some information and keeping game stale? do you scumread Ircher?

(i'm on page 3 and I'd lynch harambey just off tbh)

In Day 1? not that I can think of.
It's generally advocated against as lynching ANYONE has a chance of hitting scum, versus giving scum a free NK.
Obviously there's an inherent risk in lynching someone for the sake of it (wagoning PR's, outing people as not PR's etc.) but at the very least lynching someone who is contributing nothing is better than not lynching in my books.
It always feels bad forcing a lynch on someone who people don't really want to lynch, but when it's D1 and nothing is happening I think it's the best choice town have.

Outside of day 1 I think there can be mechanical reasons for not lynching, but as I have very little experience with those I'm not going to try and invent one.

I think Ircher is a null read for me at the minute, I'm having a hard time placing him

Okay so I just did a little bit of thinking and analyzing...

Seeing as how me, vulcan and ofrhz have two votes each right now and no one else has votes: Obviously I am not going to vote myself, so right now, I feel like I need to make a decision on who to vote between vulcan and ofrhz because it seems like the lynch is not going to be anyone else this day 1.
I've probably made it clear numerous times before that I have a stronger townread on ofrhz and think vulcan is the better one to lynch (especially between these two), I feel too lazy to provide you examples of what I said earlier about this (besides you can look it up yourself if you want to), I don't feel like repeating reasons I have to favor a vulcan lynch over an ofrhz lynch....

I'm just gonna
VOTE: vulcan

I see no other option really.
