Okay, I see what you both are talking about. So I guess the dilemma we are in is that even if NSG is the tracker, scum will try to discredit her today, and maybe even kill VT tonight to try and say she is scum playing as if she is town tracker. And if she isn't, then she is scum. I agree with Nacho though, I find it tough to rationalize that after last day phase, and us lynching teacher, that I wouldn't be the target of the track. I know that I am the main target of scumminess right now, so it would make since with only needing to find one more scum, that you would track who you think is scum. I am also aware that NSG should be aware of that as she is a veteran. Seems she may have fumbled with her thought process for chasing after VT instead of me. So I guess my thing is here is I want to know the real reason for why she didn't track me, and not the, I was looking for nulls bs reason.

It's tempting to take a possible tracker into lylo. But what good will it do us to have her as a tracker on D4? Let's say we lynch Rampage today. He flips green. Then we're in lylo pretty much having to take her word for it that she's telling the truth about who she tracked. What good is a tracker if their word cannot be trusted? Then again (if she actually is making a genuine tracker claim) scum might NK her tonight and that really would help our PoE.

scum!nsg fake claiming results, tracker!nsg nk tonight and tracker!nsg with a result tomorrow amounts to the same thing.

For me this is a tough decision. Like if NSG is scum claiming tracker, that means we have a mafia role cop. I can always go back and see if anyone tried to push NSG day 2 before the cop claim. That however is a long shot I think as well. If NSG is town and the tracker, then scum will try to keep her around to try and discredit her; or they could kill her tonight and leave it to VT to figure out who is scum between Scioness, Nacho, and me. If we lynch NSG and she flips town, then it comes down to Nacho, Scioness, and myself to figure out who is scum cause VT will be killed and there will be no confirmed town. This friggin sucks.

everybody has checked in since nsg claimed. you have full claimed vt, vulcan has softed it with his 'lynch me if you want' things d1. meaning if nsg is saying the truth then there is a role cop that pretends to be vt in {you, me, nacho} if nsg is scum there is no tracker.

nacho was pushing nsg since late d1 iirc, i don't think anybody else did anything because d2 almost doesn't exist.

d4 will be only three people, you forgot about a night kill. we lost two people tonight i don't think no lynch is an option.

I don't think scum No Kills tonight. This sucks, I think the only way we can be sure about NSG is to lynch her. Still, I feel like if NSG were scum, they would have wait til Day 4 to claim and let me get lynched today. My question is did NSG put any defense of anyone forward last day phase before the cop claim. Like, did she come out and say that she felt her N1 investigation claim was clean

I think we need to wait for everyone to check in. If no one counters the claim, then we have to proceed as if NSG and VT are town, which leaves Scioness, Nachomamma, and me to choose from. I am leaning towards Scioness myself. I had a gut feeling about them, but I know I am vanilla. So in my eyes it is down to Nacho and Scioness. However, with us being in a situation where we mislynch today and tomorrow and lose, this becomes a rough state of affairs. I would almost prefer to be the lynch as it takes me off the table and the remaining 2 town can make their own reads as NSG will die tonight, but at the same time, I am hopeful I can convince Vulcan that I am town as well.

i don't think today w/o her claim would be as simple as lynching you. i walked into the day with an idea of lynching her, nacho was on her almost all game long.

I think that you read the temperature of the room wrong. Claiming tomorrow as opposed to today also does nothing for scum!NSG except make her claim less believable.

hmm, that is interesting to me then. I may be leaning towards the fake claim idea now. I mean, scum try to lay low anyways. So her not posting Day 2 at all, even though we dragged it out to try and get reads for a few. Seems like it is possible that she wasn't willing to ship her scum mate down the river, even though that would have been the best move. I also definitely lean towards Nacho being town because he was on Teacher before Darynth even voted him. So, I am comfortable voting for NSG, and if we are wrong, then I guess I have a choice to make on Day 4.

hmm, yeah, that definitely makes me much more comfortable voting NSG. Not because of the targeting me, but because there was no real reason given. It seemed like she was willing to steer town towards the easy vote and get another town lynch; but didn't vote and also left herself an out for when I flipped town.

So I checked out nsg's ISO, and I feel pretty confident in reasserting that Rampage would have been the optimal tracker target there. With teacher outed, that left her and Rampage as prime lynch candidates the next day cycle. Knowing that she was being suspected, she ought to have foreseen having to hardclaim on D3. In that case, her claim would have town-cleared a scum lean which would have done the most service for town.

@nsg: thanks for that link explaining cop strategy. If I ever roll cop, I'll keep those guidelines in mind. But in this particular gamestate, it was unwise of you to follow the sort of "general advice" provided in the wiki article. One scum had already been lynched. You had to have foreseen that you'd be claiming today. In these circumstances clearing rampage would have done town a world of good. Even if your tracker claim was disbelieved and town lynched you, you would have flipped tracker and confirmed Rampage as green. Not to mention the fact that you might have caught him in the act of night killing.
