Basically what Winged Cat said - it was serious but not really. I scummed the same busywork question that Esp did (do you have a preferred short form, Esp?) and figured it might be fun to pressure you (and also see who if anyone followed). You still are well within random range, not + anything. But it was more the second part of my explanation -- that I didnt like where my vote was. I didnt want to keep an RVS/pressure wagon on a slot that is v/la.

@Pickles, I hope the quietness didnt burn your excitement off. What post has pinged you the most since Sunday? Why?

@Isolato, can you add an avi? It helps break up and immediately ID who is talking. If you are less graphically inclined, describe what you want (an isosceles triangle?) and I can give it a shot. Also, welcome.

@teacher:

Winged hasn't actually given her reasoning yet for voting me, though I'm sure's she's somewhat serious about the vote.

That being said, Did you happen to get anything out of my response to Esp? since you two seem to be focusing on the same thing on me.

The reason I'm asking you and not Winged specifically is actually the same reason you decided to vote pressure me, I wanted to see if you're really forming your own conclusion out of me or following up on Winged voting me. I'm still iffy on it due to the timing though.

Also, who hasn't spoken up yet? I know ratedx was replaced by Daskter which I guess for clarification's sake my RVS would now be VOTE: Daxter.

@Daskter and @Pickles: You out there guys?

I found it interesting that you volunteered to Esp that the Invis question was the most forced thing. Reading ESP's post, I immediately assumed her to be referring to that, and not the question you had posed to her. Considering you thought it was forced, Im surprised you assumed it was the question to Esp, unless you wanted the credit for volunteering the Invis point. But I think Im way overreading an early interaction.

Speaking more broadly, my style definitely does tend to feed off others. I dont get online as much, so I largely react to cases others make and see what makes sense (while also considering their motives for making a case at that time). Here, Winged intentionally didnt make a case. (Sidenote -- you could well have asked me and not Winged because Winged had already been asked....just saying). But I looked at your ISO after her vote, got pinged by the Invis question, and wanted to move my vote anyways.

Alright I need a better way to quote short parts of the text rather than clicking "Quote" then deleting the parts I don't need, so for now I'm gonna just paste what I'm trying to quote. I'm sure the veterans can point me the right way.

"I found it interesting that you volunteered to Esp that the Invis question was the most forced thing. Reading ESP's post, I immediately assumed her to be referring to that, and not the question you had posed to her."

Yeah my train of thought was basically Esp said there was a forced question on an RVS vote, which since it was coming from Esp, I first thought it meant "A forced question on 'no RVS vote Esp?'" that I made earlier towards them, which I honestly thought was small talk on my part.

Fair nuff. Regarding your tech question, I’m pretty dumb, but I think on a desktop you can highlight the part you want to talk about and then hit quote. Dunno about mobile.

// Still late to the discussion as always. I'm not good at checking my email, sorry.
Hey teacher!
i play a lot of online pet games. didn't really grow out of them even as an adult. sometimes people in the forums host mafia-like games, which is where i discovered it all.
other than that i use the internet to do business, i'm a freelance illustrator <3

I think my vote still stands? I'm confused as to what's going on / what we're doing right now.

@Teacher:
Alright, I'll try that. Thanks.

Also teacher, despite your timing of the voting being iffy, your reasoning if true makes you more townread for me, but again, the timing of your vote still rings iffy for me.

@All:
Random possibly Newbish thought, with the Daskter newbie slot being replaced twice now, how likely do you guys think the slot itself is scummy?

I doubt a veteran player of the site would get turned off by a Mafia slot like that but I don't read enough Newbie games to know if people can get cold feet because their role is Mafia.

However, I am in favor of lynching people who potentially lurk without actively abandoning the game.

Totally NAI. I looked up both users profiles and it appears each made a sum total of one post on site, when they signed up. My guess is they never even got the role PM; perhaps put a fake email in the signup to avoid spam.

But I agree with you on lurking. This town better get its poop in a group. Right now we are averaging 15 posts a day -- less than 2 per slot. Heck, our most active poster has been on VLA and the fricken mod is 4th. For what its worth, as a town we want to be coalescing around a lynch within 5-6 days, so that there is time for L-1, intents, claims, and identifying an alternative wagon without too much scum influence.

@Xander - you seem to be reading most things but have not provided your own thoughts. Surely you have had to have some reactions to Invis, Plat, or me?

Clarification/correction: I think this is true for Daskter, based on when he was replaced in/when his profile shows last activity. RatedX was active after the role PMs went out. Not inclined to read too much into one player's no-show in a game where multiple slots did not confirm.

Hm. I see, guess it's just unlucky then. Right now it's really just you and me back and forth for a while.

And yeah I actually want to know your thoughts Xander. Right now it looks like the ones with some reads to go off on is me, teach, Invis, and Winged, and Winged is VLA so

hello. is it me you’re looking for?

i townread invisibility already (his gameplay has a townfeel to it), as well as teacher who seems to have a town motive to the way he’s pushing the game forward.

as for scum, feeling platfleece as a possibility, but i need to investigate further before i would vote them. i think they already have a few votes.

for now, i’ll VOTE: isolato, would like to see more from their slot, just like several others playing. i realize my slot has been mia, but i can make up for it, so hakuna matata!

after iso’ing everyone, a few questions to get us rolling. i have quite a bit of experience myself, so i’m not a newbie, but wanted to find the scum among the newbies to enhance my analytical skills.

@picklepaige: in , you mention being excited about playing mafia. however, you haven’t appeared for 5 days now. where’s that excitement now? please don’t tell me it’s in the scum pt (unless you’re scum of course, then i’ll take it)!

@espeonage, do you have any early scumreads? see no mention of scumreads in your posts so far.

@xander, townreads are used to help eliminate possible scum suspects, so they are vital in the long run so you can zero in on particular players being scum. basically, you look for something that suggests that player a is pushing forward a town perspective, or for details that suggest player a is guilt-free. A lot of the time I use townreads to their maximum advantage to limit my potential lynch pool. Do you see anything in this thread that suggests that a certain player is pushing forward a town (guilt free/not “trying to be town”, but rather being it) perspective?

@isolato, same question for you as xander above.

@invisibility, hi! i see you have 2 townreads already, which is good! if you had to hazard a guess on a third, who would be next?

@wingedcatgirl, same question as xander and isolato.

@teacher, as invisibility could probably attest to, i am definitely the type of player that likes to drive discussion forward. because you seem like a very analytically adept player, i’ll ask you: if you had to make an early crack at possible scum partners, who would they be?
