I feel like anyone who engages in consistent dueling would be doing so only to prevent other players from getting abilities. How confident are people in their scum hunting that they'd be able to win a 28 player game without abilities? I'd probably vote against a repeat dueler unless it were closer to endgame.
Good, please do.
It's probably going to have to happen.

For the record, I think I'm dueling Toogeloo tomorrow, and if anyone beats me to it, I'm autolynching them.

I'm pretty sure we all do.
It's not listed anywhere that we all do, why make that assumption?

It seems a reasonable assumption to make. Just by the nature of the game.

Like, can we still vote for a lynch, and the duel is just a mob day lynch?

If the Duel and Lynch are separate, why not just vote to lynch me side by side with the duel with Katsuki and Fire?

we can't lynch and duel

if there's a duel in the day, the only person who can be lynched is someone in that duel i.e. the only votes that count are votes for either of those two people

That doesn't really answer the question though. Is there a lynch too? Like after the duel? Is there any point to not dueling every day? Can we do multiple duels in a day and then a lynch.

I'm guessing I'm just confused about the difference or why someone should be autolynched if they duel me.

@rb idk

the duel has taken a lot of attention away so I can't actually form scum-reads

i want to say Ircher is scum but I can't justify that to myself. I think he's probably either town or some sort of survivor with an wincon that involves dueling (i forget if there are 3rd parties here)

Creature is probably town

you are probably town

Spiffeh's a little sus, mostly because he hasn't posted much substance and I theorize he might be trying to buddy up with some of the more exasperated players in the game

@Toog, duels end the day

No, but some roles may interact with the duel mechanic.

Also, tbh, I'm still scumreading Toogeloo.

the day ends after the person in the duel dies

then it's instant night, then it's the next day

if there's a duel, it essentially becomes the lynch of that day. so no there is no lynch after the duel

I guess the simple question is... Is there even a need to lynch in the game? Early votes suggested to me that there was. Not having a lynch, and making us vote for people want alive instead of dead seems overly confusing.

thx

Fine with me. Besides, you're one of my scumreads. (Alongside UnrealSeal and Toogeloo.)

Pedit: Nope, it's happening.

duels only occur if someone instigates a duel

it's really something that should be done sparingly, when you're really certain someone is scum and that you'll win the duel but you just can't get them lynched. using it regularly is just bad bc it essentially removes all actual relevant discussion

I have history with fire bringer and tbh I don't think his scum, while katsuki on the hand is a 50/50. If kat flips scum I'm lynching you.
how do you reason it's 50/50?

if you assume there's a lot of scum, say 8/28, and if you were town you'd remove yourself from the equation. so you'd have an 8/27 chance of hitting scum - 71% chance you hit town assuming we have a LOT of scum (almost 30% of players)

you're not that new buddy
His either scum or his not.
2 possible outcomes doesn't mean each outcome has equal potentiality...

someone fucking
vig this idiot
I know It's not exactly 50/50 (Did you see the starwars meme you're c3po nobody wants to be c3po) but it doesn't change any fact his a null read to me so it may as well be 50/50. Trying to determine if you are scum trying to shade or one of those annoying people who take everything figuratively. Null>Town read who did a vi everytime. If kat starts posting super town stuff then I might think about shifting my vote.

@Toog regular lynching means the wagons are flexible and you can lynch a guy for saying something stupid

duels SHOULD be used in the case you really need to push a scum-read and prevent dumb counter-wagons and deflection from forming
