I will say that in a

hypothetical situation

where these two exist I would

NOT

let a Lightning Rod affect the Ascetic player. (Yes, I know that's not what most of you think and I acknowledge your PoV might have more merit than mine, but I would treat the Lightning Rod as "action

targeting

everyone" if that makes any sense.)

You all do realize this isn't a "Normal", so I would strongly recommend you ask me how >I< would resolve any hypothetical situation.

This is weird.

And problematic.

Few possiblities:

1) Scum have a kill that could not be redirected, used it on cheeky, and elsa saved them.
2) Elsa is not ascetic.
3) There is another non-ascetic doctor out there, one that also prevented multiple kills.
4) There are multiple protective actions that occurred, enough to equal the number of kills submitted.

I think there might be a couple others, but they're all variations on these.

Now nobody here has any clue what the hell happened last night and he made any investigative useless, unless they ALSO have ascetic. Which is possible, true, but unlikely.

So now we're basically still in day 1 minus the traitor in terms of information.

Like, if Toog is an unlimited Lightning rod then scum effectively have no kill. If he's got some manner of limitations, having scum not know them to not be able to play around them is positive EV. If he's one shot then he shouldn't claim because scum has to worry about him doing it again.

All of this doesn't matter if he's town or scum, because presumably there's a scumteam without him on it.

Ya know... as a Survivor, I would totally claim to be Ascetic and Bulletproof just to try and keep as few people targeting me at night as possible. Sometimes you just need to keep up appearances.

That said, there can legit be more than one protection out there, and if EJ's Doc protects against all killing, it would be hard to imagine that another protective role would not. The only thing I can think of that would make it sticky would be an Elite Bodyguard that kills the attacker to his protection.

It's laughable that people would even think that a scum Lightning Rod exists let alone would claim it after Night 1. Just think about it for a moment and you'll understand just how ludicrous that would even be.

Using the rod last night after a Mafia aligned lynch saves us at the very least one town death. I was fully expecting to die since I was hoping a Strong Man would have attacked last night.

Hopefully I'll be dead after Night 1 though, so it wont be much an issue.

Porkens being treated as a town wagon is a viable point. I'm fine with the provisional assumption that Flicker was a town wagon. That's a good starting point for wagon analysis, if someone who isn't being lazy wants to get on that.

No they all TMI'd if you read the TPFKAP flip and each players ISO. Jingle was different in that his TMI was about HoB. The other 3 talked about how someone was town because they revealed stuff about their role PM early...therefore they were aware ONLY TOWN ROLES DIDN'T KNOW WHO THEY WERE. Whereas we didn't know if scum had flavour or not.
