I can definitely see myself enjoying some spiteful glee in shortaru's situation, as town. As for my reads... I think being away from this forum for a while has softened me up, nobody is screaming "scum" to me. Certain people seem a bit too friendly, but I'm not going to be the one to say "how dare you be friendly to me you must be buddying up to the bad/new player".

This is opportunistic. I didn't roll my role, did you guys? Do you think Micc did? Do you think he would realize if HE didn't pick HIS role, then this OTHER GUY didn't pick THEIR role either? Because I think he would. Voting someone for a role, that is easily avoidable, and EASILY verifiable is extremely opportunistic. Especially when there isn't a decent scum role that could act as this role in a mechanic sense, if you assume that day-vig has to post his day shot publicly (which Micc does make the future assumption of down below).

"hey, I have thoughts, and I want to post thoughts so people see my thoughts AS I have them, and not AFTER they've changed, but I can't keep reading or I will fall asleep and nobody will see any thoughts, present or future" is a pretty good mindset there buddy. If you go V/LA, and miss 5 pages of posts, I'd rather you give a stream-of-consciousness wallpost of your thoughts as you read from beginning to end, than a single end-thoughts on the game state as it is when you get back.

Posting your progressing thoughts shows you aren't afraid to be wrong, and change your mind. If you then show you changed you mind fluidly, and people can follow you, it helps show that your reads are fluid and you're scumhunting and not trying to build cases.

Scum won't do that, because if they did that, and they called someone scummy, then that person LATER get s confirmed-town, it makes them look bad, and makes people who already mentally town-painted this person go "wtf why would you call this OBVTOWN scummy?" which brings attention to you. They'd re-read the whole thread, gather ALL pertinent information that has been disseminated, then make a single catch-up post with ALL the cards, so they can successfully push a case, without calling attention to themselves. Playing with only some of the cards puts them at a disadvantage.


Also, this is easily verifiable meta of mine, that I stream-of-consciousness post (meaning I'll post thoughts as I get them and not at the end of a catch up), and wall post. Please feel free to go verify, and take a VOTE: Simeon while you're away to do so.

Because I am not yet ready to begin placing "serious" votes in this game, this 1 and a bit page of back and forth over the claim hasn't hard-called any scum out. Until there are 2 or 3 "events" that have happened to generate discussion I'm not ready to call someone out as being scum because it's easy to be wrong on one thing, and then later show you're not scum, just were a wrong towny.

the vote on simeon was more of a "NOYOU" or OMGUS or a poke in the eye than it was a serious "I want to lynch him vote". If it were deadline wight this second and there was no other content in the game, I would support a lynch on either micc or simeon, and if both had equal wagons and I was the deciding vote, I'd likely pick Micc over Simeon though(his years of experience lend to a bigger "why is he acting this way" in my mind than Simeon's)
