it's a statement of fact. most people find something to latch on to when i'm town and then knee jerk call me scum and keep the part of them saying that 'you have to lynch me or you will lose!' or 'if you lynch scum RC people will think you are god' in the back of their mind and convince themselves that that's not what they're going off of, that this specific thing that they latched onto as justification is the reason they scumread me. that's not how human's minds work. people define their principles by their actions, they don't define their actions by their principles. random person #4 decided that I was scum for whatever internal bullshit reason they had then created a narrative to justify that, that's how people scumhunt.

at least with, say, ruru I can just openly say go fuck yourself if she openly says to policy lynch me on D1 but that's not most people, most people tell themselves they're doing the right thing.
but whatever internal monologue tells you that you're treating my slot fairly doesn't change the fact that if I don't have the freedom to cater my play to other's reads (aka I am not scum) I will be scumread and if I don't make it an awful experience to try to lynch me I will get systematically lynched in every game I play.
