Yes. As far as I am aware, abbreviations are acceptable, as well as only using the first part of someone's name. There is also some room for misspellings.

e.g. VOTE: north would still be picked up as a vote for northsidegal.

Nah, the majority of my games I'm scumread for a long time and then get nightkilled because I'm 'threatening'. I don't actually get lynched very often.
