If there anywhere close to even, it's probably correct to lynch nom, because the games where nom is scum are very winnable and the games where nom is not scum are very tragic.
I find both croag and SS scummier but lynching SS and watching croag kill nom for game over creates a toldja-so, not a game win, while lynching nom and then it turns we have a rose somewhere and it's not clear who it would be, very winnable.

I don't think self-contradiction is inherently scummy. Most of the ones you highlighted were just abrupt read changes coupled with undue confidence, which is something town can do as well.

In the first run of this setup, there was only a single town gun and hito (as town) hammered him after he claimed. I was one of the people who had to decide between hito and implosion (the actual scum) in MYLO, and I had a very hard time bringing myself to vote implosion because of how anti-town hito had been.
