So the dead thread knew about the factional kill before all of you guys did (sry not sry). On entry he was like "Hey, OST, buddy, why did you keep this a secret? The scums already know about it because of DEB." which was obviously a scumslip but I didn't really feel any need to reveal it because I needed to keep reasonably low-profile.

Going into last night I was all like "Hey cool dead pals, remember, kill Cheeky"
so BS and chemist are voting Cheeky
then jjh votes Cheeky
then DEB lolcats a bit
then jjh is like "man i hope we coulda got a mislynch other than Cheeky through now we gotta kill OST" and then submitted a kill from mastina to me (obviously a pt slip)
Egix freaks out, votes mastina
Flavor votes mastina
Dann reminds everyone jjh is smart
Egix talked him into voting mastina too
chemist switches to mastina (uh oh)
i pointed out jjh's og scumslip (dead scum can talk to living scum fyi)
i rocked up and i was like "ah cool vote mastina" then i realised the slip was probs fake
we weren't too fussed who we shot but, whatevs
flavor rocks up like "LOL TROLLJJH" and fires back up the Cheeky wagon like a boss
dann votes cheeky

things go quiet
the clock strikes 11:59 (in theory, not practice)

SUDDENLY!
A FLASH OF LIGHTNING!

the power goes out. we scramble through the darkness to find the switch.
when we turn the lights back on, we cannot believe what we see.
jjh and DEB have voted mastina. not even a second apart. the mastina kill goes through.

and the night phase ends

jjh and DEB and their mystery scumbuddy cackle in their PT about how their devious plan went off without a hitch, and they'd killed me, the last link to the living, and gotten away with it scot-free.

but OSTENTATIOUS had the last laugh.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I have done a meta deep dive (for certain values of "deep") on DEB and it significantly weakened some of my concerns about him. I can't go into too many details for ~reasons~.

I still think he'd be a good lynch in a typical game, for policy/instructive/flip purposes, but in a flipless game where he'd be able to keep talking, it's no longer attractive to me. FL and AA are also making good points about the slot being self-sorting.

With the demise of my Binary Star scumread, I'll have to give this some thought.

So let’s move off of the “if DEB was scum” angle.

I'm confused rereading this, didn't Pine claim VT?

I explained this. I picked up on what I thought was a soft protective claim from Binary Star, then there was no N1 kill despite alleged Doc Enabler death. It seemed obvious to me that a N1 no kill meant that Binary Star protective was active, disproving the DEB claim.

It’s not a gambit per se, but it is overstating things.

uhh so I was kinda like "hey I'm gonna let Pine think he has a shot" in the dead thread because for a moment i forgot the last scum can probably still talk to DEB and jjh

Anyway, scum has to be in Pine and Cheeky I would think. I'm more inclined to go Cheeky. A lot of people have wanted a Cheeky death for a while, and it never picked up enough traction to go through. I want to go back and look at both ISO's.
