As everyone left the conference hall, Thalia and Kyle were left alone."Tell me Kyle, is there something you have been hiding? Your actual employer, maybe? It's over, we both know that."

"Former employer. We left. All of us. There's only the leadership left."
"Nope, not them either. I found your HQ at Mt. San Antonio. They're dead now.

"Thalia, I'm not the enemy. All of us left for Aeon, we only did our job. What would you do? I'm the last one here, I assume you killed the others. Please know that we're not like them. I'm not. It's over, just like you said. No more."

Thalia sighed of relief.
"Thank you for your honesty. My hunt now finally ends here."
She grinned.

Chapter X: Death of a Tyrant

Today is a big day. Hell yeah.
Thalia steps onto the balcony, the crowd cheers. Just as planned.
She talks about the end of Summit 2180, and about what a succes it has been. About how they were able to not only lay out the foundations of the future, but caught the last few Simotech as well. About how, without them, the future can finally begin.
Whatever, lady.

Her next words are about hope. She says that, like those before her, she could tell everyone to be hopeful for what's to come, but that she won't. That the time of hope has long been gone, and that it's time for action. Action, of which the first step has been made today.

I, too, will take action.

In the middle of her long - and frankly, very boring speech - it was the right time to.
A short, and very quiet sigh left my barrel. Her beautiful, white dress now having a crimson spot, that grows bigger. And bigger. And bigger.
And then she fell.

Thalia, honey, you have served well. You did what nobody else dared to, for the sake of everyone.
But, your actions are unforgivable. Live, and you'll pay for everything you've done. You don't deserve that. You deserve peace.
Besides, this world no longer needs you. We don't need a tyrant, we need compassion. In a world full of steel and technology, we need kindness and love. Love, that you cannot give us. But that's okay.
It'll be our little secret.

Today, it's a big day.
It marks the end of Simotech, and whoever joined them in their cause.
It marks the end of the past, and the start of the future.
It marks the death of a tyrant.

And no one will know.

Epilogue: Dear mom, Part 2

Hi mom!

I just found your letter, so I suppose it's time for me to write something back.

I don't really know where to start. So much has happened since you were... You know.
Shortly after, it was decided that we'd become the United States again. Emily and Zachary became the first presidents, and to this day still are. Two presidents, because we have finally learned that the vision of a single person isn't always the best. You'd be so proud of them, mom, they're doing it so well.

In the history books, you're described as one of the people who shaped the future. You're a hero, mom, and everyone knows. You're my hero, mom.

I know you'd want to learn about me, too. Lucas took care of me after you died, and loved me as if he was my father. You probably still remember him, he's a great guy. I'm sure you liked him, too!
Last year, I started studying at the Coleman University for Diplomacy and Foreign Relations. Yes, they named it after you! There's a statue of you on the courtyard, although I'm sure you were prettier than it - it looks terrible! But it's okay, I guess, the thought matters. I hope to become a diplomat and finally lift up the isolation our continent has been in for so long. Maybe one day, I'll live up to my name. To what you have achieved. Someday.

Anyway, it's about time for me to get some sleep. Uni is exhausting! Worry not though, you'll definitely hear from me again!

This story is one I've been wanting to tell and to share for years now. It means a lot to me that I've finally been able to do so, and I'm very thankful for that.

Thank you to everyone who stayed with me during this game. It has been boring, frustrating, angonzing and so many other things at times, but I'm happy that you were willing to see the positives and stayed. Thanks.

Also a very special mention to firebringer. I honestly couldn't have had a better comod. You did so much more than I asked of you, and I don't know how I can repay you. Thank you man.

That said, I'm glad this game ended. It was a drag for everyone, and as a mod it's painful to see how your game is a burden on everyone still playing it. I'm sorry for that. I hope you enjoyed it at least somewhat!
