In post 63, Geyde wrote:@Egix96 where's your head at in regards to the thread?
I don't see real solving from your posts
In my opinion, the game hasn't really yet progressed far enough for me to form any solid reads yet, but based on some ISO-reading:

Airan - They remind me a bit of how I was in my first-ever game (Newbie 1890), in that they seem... well, actually I'm not sure how to put it in words. Maybe it's because, like me, they started their first game with a scum rand, but I don't really feel strongly about that. I'm aware that Jamelia "love[d] that [they were] being 'paranoid'" but to me, is a good example of what I'm talking about here.

Draynth - Not really seeing much in the way of alignment-indicative stuff from him yet. Most of his play so far has simply involved asking questions (also his 'quick tip' in ) so I would consider him the de facto IC of this game (the Newbie game kind, when those were still a thing).

faustiv - I would like to see more from them first.

Geyde - I think that is a +town observation, though it remains to be seen whether I will end up agreeing with it or not.

Jamelia - Probably not scum with Airan based on first sentence of . I can imagine the rest of that post being said from one scum to another, but not the first bit, I think that would just be way too corny ;)
Individually though, not yet sure what to make of him.

NMSA - feels a little bit reachy imo, but I guess that that can be at least partially justified by it being that early in the game. Nothing else from him pings me though.

Spangled - - "...but
I don’t think I can call [Jamelia] scum over it.
I am not willing to put my vote there just yet, but
I will consider it.
" Seems non-committal and maybe self-contradictory?

Veggie - I notice that, like Jamelia, they also end a lot of their sentences with exclamation marks - how has Spam not picked up on that? But I digress.
I will admit is not a bad post, but I wouldn't say that it's "the best question asked so far" as Spangled put it... and Airan agreeing with that is... eh? But again I digress.

So with all that said,

Thanks for your opinion. I’m sorry if agreeing with spangled seemed suspicious. I kind of regret agreeing now. Although it is good, it is just asking for an opinion which still hasn’t been answered.

Giving an early townread to Veggie, I think; is the best question asked so far.
I highly disagree that their question is deserving of a townread given that it makes no attempt to analyze the validity of my point or apply it in a solving sense.
Granted, I don't scumread it. However, it's not out of place for either alignment to say it.

for the lulz. It's RVS. I was able to think of a snarky reason to vote you more easily than I could think of one for anyone else. Also, wrt the bolded, look what reaction I got by voting someone who had already been voted.

I thought about this in my first game on here too. I thought it was scummy (it ended up being so for different reasons), but not for meta reasons. Bandwagon RVS on d1 increases pressure and encourages discussion! So for now, let’s not punish someone for bandwagoning this early when there’s nothing to go off of.
Thread seems to agree with my conclusion on the RVS interaction, whether it be TMI or not.

Gotcha. Is that like a meta thing? To use too many exclamation points or something?
not specifically meta, but more my experience with the tendency of newb!scum to act extremely excited.

Could you explain the difference?
Disclaimer: I wasn’t in their other game, but I have their ISO for it pulled up.
They were less ‘excited’ in the other one, certainly, but there were certainly still many an exclamation point, and a fairly similar optimistic, bright outlook. They were slightly more contenty early game in the other one, but mostly because they were actually asked questions about the gamestate early on — which, I think, cut off the happy greetings — which so far no one’s done.

I do agree that they’ve definitely been very profuse in the area of greeting-type-posts, though.

If 66 is not the best question asked so far, what is, in your opinion?
I also don’t really see how it is self-contradictory to say that I don’t think this person should be called scum for doing so-and-so, but that I’ll think a bit about it. You will notice that I did exactly that — I looked over their entrance in their previous game.
Non-commital... that’s fair; that’s just me early-game, I’m afraid; if you meta me I dare say that that is what you’ll find.

Not speaking for Airan here, but just wanted to put my .02 in. Bandwagoning isn't bad and it kick-started the game in this case! But I think that it can be inherently suspicious depending on the order that people decide to jump on the bandwagon. Spam put the second vote in, which (to me) makes them more suspicious than Draynth putting the first vote in. Ofc it's still not a strong indication of Spam being scum though. Just wanted to say that order matters.

@bolded: Hm, in what way?
How would you define the term LHF?
LHF because that the comment Spam made is one that vegos tend to hear a lot as a provocation. I'm not entirely sure if Spam would have commented the way they did if it wasn't following the previous comment from Draynth "I just ate a vegetarian meal". I feel that Spam may have used the previous comment as context for their reply. Hope I explained that in a way that makes sense?

Ofc though, whether someone is vego or not is completely irrelevant here so nothing was taken seriously and no feelings were trampled on :] I do understand that their comment was most likely made for the purpose of gathering information, irrespective of what their actual opinion on vegetables is! LOL
These responses took way more words than they needed to get the point across.
Maybe it's because they're trying to get across their thoughts to newbies who may not have played before, but a lot of what they are saying doesn't amount to anything.

Yes, and with the fact that a majority requires 5, at this point, you are most certainly being paranoid.
Don’t think anyone tends to get lolhammered in RVS, especially not in the newbie queue.

What does lolhammered mean?
Oh, sorry. Generally, if a player is at L-1 (one vote away from being lynched, which happens when a majority in votes is reached), people wait for a more-or-less consensus from the general thread, and a roleclaim, and give warning in advance so that the person about to be lynched can share last thoughts if they’re town. Lolhammering means you probably don’t wait for most of that; you go ahead and cast the last vote, known as a hammer.

Generally you’ll find the definitions of terms that seem strange on the wiki.

Somebody hasn't played enough newbie games then. Accidental rvs quicklynches are always a risk if a lolwagon gets to L-1.
Aye, but the wagon which we were talking about was at... L-3. A quicklynch there seems unlikely.

Spangled's posts on the subject of the RVS add nothing of note to discussion in any meaningful way other than 'it was unlikely that they would be quickhammered since it takes 5 votes', prolonging a conversation which could have ended in the span of one post. Scum had definitely prolonged the thread discussion of RVS; Spangled fits the bill considering their post adds nothing but fluff to the conversation.
Additionally, their townread on UrVeggie's question comes off as TMI given that the question was definitely not out of a scum's range to ask.

Hmm. I’m not sure I’d put Spangled down as a hard “scumread” at the moment. I agree that they rambled but...so did I. I am leaning towards them trying to help vs. being scummy.

I’d lean towards a scum read of faustiv right now. Not sure how big of a fan I am of the vague questioning and responses. Is this because they don’t want to answer or are they trying not to reveal info?

Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

did another ms user do something lovely? recognize their achievements here!

Today's modern mafia consumer demands dozens, nay, hundreds of roles that are vanilla cops.
