True, but if I saved the SK's shot, its still not alignment telling, ya? What does town get? (Scum get to know who they have to push at somepoint). Im going to need a logical explanation of why +EV, not just throwing spaghetti at a wall.

Look, fmpov, keeping it close and crumbing it if Im killed are +EV to outting it now. If I out it now, scum has better information to select a NK and to sort the power would be a threat to their plans. On the flip side, outing doesnt help town, because its NAI for the target - just reflects my reads. I think Im right on this, and havent yet seen someone present an actual argument to the other side, other than scumreading me, and thats ...... not persuasive.

But what provides any indication that anyone I would have targeted is a clear? Like there’s the 50% chance we just have scum (so no clear at all), plus the 50% of the serial killer world where I would have saved the sk’s target rather than scums. The short version is that in most worlds my would be healed does not actually provide helpful info to town, weighed against ALL worlds where knowing who I would target helps scum plan.

So I do disagree (I don’t know about passionately, since I’m more than open to being convinced, I just haven’t been yet).

Below is a post from the dead thread, where I realize that giving time to the thread sometimes it's one hell of a scum hunting technice (I'm fairly confident that I would have got 2 scum right instead of only one in normal 2075 if I stopped engaging the thread for every little thing, and only bringing it up later).

Observatio: You're not completely wrong but you're definitely wrong at the same time right now. There are times when I read some posts and keep quiet about it yes, but I'm currently in the process of moving + for some reasons I had to switch jobs and this one really is far more tiring since it spends quite a bit of physical/mental energy. I'm genuinely tired and have more energy/time for mafia in weekends (I'm hyper-active in weekends?)

if instead of engaging sky about her scummy posturing without voting, i had simply turned a blind eye until that trait had showed up enough for me to get a solid wolf read on her, maybe this could have been different, because if she had came to the thread a second time, but not voted anyone and kept posturing about monstosh, she would of course be the highest equity partner and getting insta-lynched today.

however, since i clearly said "hey, vote someone", she slipped to the townish block again, and we forgot the fact that she was posturing about monstosh wagon even if for only a bit of time.

i don't know. i feel like engaging players and calling them out for scummy actions is the worst kind of thing you can do if it's premature. you need to give space for them to be scummy enough for a lynch instead of calling them out, because if you appoint what they are doing wrong to them, they are simply going to correct it (example also being monstosh only beginning to "gamesolve" when urap called him out for it, monstosh would have a way easier lynch and more solid wolf read if we had let him implode himself with his mistakes).

i definitely feel that engaging players to explain to them your wolf read on them is one of those "common sense" parts of town play that are kind of...wrong?

of course you need to engage them some time during the day, but you need to give them time to make mistakes i guess.

For what it's worth, I was doing the same thing here and trying to get more reactions from everyone first instead of instantly engaging wooper too much

I'm gonna let myself have a bit more fun before commenting for real what I think of that claim

Spicy in mafia games is always welcome :')

I began to get more confident on scum leaning him because of the reaction after he asked Nor why I was close to the "mechanical town" players though. From that point on he scummed it up more and more until coming to the current state of sobbing too much I stole his ice cream (which isn't a reaction I would likely expect from scum!him to be honest).

By the way, after Team Mafia I'm going to retire again and start modding.

Anyone has any ideas they would like to see implemented in a theme setup?
