I think this is a good way to judge read progression - gradual progression is more Town than abrupt 180s here.

For bad arguments, though - it shouldn't take that long to clear up genuine mistakes of fact, semantic confusion, or missed possibilities. Semantic confusion is probably the toughest of the three, as sometimes it isn't obvious that's what's happening - but once it is obvious, it's as easy to fix as the others.

And yes, definitely an interesting start. Should mean a fun game coming up.

That is also true. If the argument is proven to be bad logic, then correcting it in a few posts would count as post progression, at least to me.

I can think of a few different conversations that should be shut down pronto, for a variety of reasons (game rules, game integrity, benefits scum)

I don't think mine fell into any of the categories, but it was at least within eyesight of one of them, so I'm not going to hold a grudge against trying to stay away from the line.

Also agreed that discussions about things outside of what is happening in game should be stopped but there are things that should just be spoken out until the end.

I think things that could benefit scum could/would also benefit town. If we are afraid to speak about things because it could benefit scum, then we just shouldn't say anything at all?

Also, I think that talking about how we perceive "hyper" responses is a topic that shouldn't be stopped but let that conversation die off naturally.

scummy; not enough to warrant the heaps of votes placed on him anyway. The players on this BW were in order: ETL, Gdooooog123456789, Farren, though ETL switched vote soon after. I feel this BW could be important to analyze further on in the game.

Never more than two votes at a time - hardly "heaps of votes." Why describe it like this?

It's hard to say that there was no fight when there were votes put on Fish. Sure, the first was RVS-esque but the second was more of a legitimate vote during a discussion with each other.

That's not what I mean when I say there was no fight. A wagon on scum usually has some opposition, a counter-wagon, something. It's not like Fish said anything that doubtlessly proved he's scum. that tells me that scum were more than happy to let people pile on that wagon, and probably at least one got on there themselves.

Adding on to that: I just read his posts and yeah, he's added nothing about his views, he's only repetitively voted for Spartan (3 times) and responded to the unrelated discussion.

What should we make of Gdog voting for Spartan?

I don't know that we can make anything out of Gdog's vote yet. So far all Gdog's posted has been answers to Fish's RQS and votes for Spartan. There's nothing else to work with.

If we flip Gdog, then maybe we learn something. If he flips scum, he *probably* didn't vote his partner right off the bat. I looked into that last game I played here - in Newbie games, scum are less likely to vote their partner with their opening vote than random chance would indicate. So that at least would make me a little more comfortable about Spartan. If he flips Town, then we have a wagon to examine in detail.
