I would have simply refused to let Shoshin live to the point of crossing the same kind of lines that she did.

But that would have been a horrible game for everyone

Once one person doesn't care anymore the game is ruined

We were very clear about not going to lylo unless we were being locktowned.

I honestly didn't get all the scumreads on me during lynch 3.

I thought I was being pretty obv-town and this was miles off my scum meta btw.

I faced resistance on SS, 7/11 townies resisted GP/Wis and essentially every townie resisted Shoshin

Like if your takeaway from this game is trust me less, you're going the wrong way by far.

The only person who thought she was scum on D1 was me and I couldn't get momentum to lynch her.

Real talk though, I think RC is improving for the better as someone who's trying to be less "overbearing" but it's gradual change and something that isn't noticed over night. But RC's rep kind of just plays against him.

i do think that both RC and Oversoul have completely valid points such that i don't think i could call either one of them outright "wrong" and i think there might be some aspect of miscommunication over what the contention even is

i think a large part of why oversoul is frustrated is because (according to him, and i have no reason to doubt this) his meta is clear such that, on some objective level, he was playing his towngame this game. there are certainly points that could be made against this (if you think self-meta or any meta is trash, SS also outplayed his meta this game, so on), but i think what frustrates oversoul a lot is that he feels this wasn't even taken into account when decisions were made, and it could have changed things if it were.

i'm certain that some people might think i have some bias when it comes to RC, but i think that objectively he played D1 very well and was a major part in the early scum deaths. i think the votecount where his baton-wagon was all town and the entire scumteam was elsewhere along with discussion in the mafia thread about how shoshin and SS could live longer with him not as the baton holder point to this clearly. again, there are other arguments that can be made here (play after day 1, whether or not early scum lynches are even good), but they're sort of tangent to the point i think RC is getting at.


i imagine that this sort of outside commentary might be kind of annoying, but i hope that it's at least somewhat valuable in seeing where people are coming from, because i personally really do feel like almost nobody in this game could be said to be "in the wrong" (whatever that even means to you). i suppose as the mod i have a unique position when it comes to insight on people's thought processes, and in almost all cases i can completely trace someone's line of reasoning as to why they are completely justified.

honestly if u were to get shoshin killed you'd probably have to force a you n shoshin baton kill looking back on it
