You can reasonably assume Site Rules supercede My Rules. Specific Site Rules that are common issues are restated below.
1.
No discussion of ongoing games.
This will be taken very seriously. Do not discuss this game outside of the game thread or other games outside of their game threads unless your role PM specifically states that you can. If you aren't sure whether something is okay to say, read the link or consult me.
2.
Do not use secret code, hidden text, or other such cryptography in the game thread
, as this constitutes discussion outside the game thread.
3.
Do not bring in outside influences into the game
such as bets, promises, trust tells, etc.
4.
Do not tell other players to replace out. Do not publicly threaten to replace out of a game. If you do need to replace out, do not publicly discuss your reasons. PM me if you are considering replacing out or have concerns and believe another player should be replaced out.
5.
Do not quote any communications with or from me, the moderator
. You may paraphrase. If you're not sure whether it's okay, ask me.
6.
Don't be a jerk.
Use common sense. Abusive behavior, game-irrelevant harassment, slurs, and threats will not be tolerated. You should play to win, but you should also be considerate to the other humans playing this game. Breaking this rule in particular can make things very unfun. I do not want to see that happen.

I am the mod.
I reserve the right to change or add rules, and will inform the players of this. I reserve the right to make the final decision in problematic circumstances and rules infractions, potentially including force replacements, or modkills with or without warning.
2.
I am a fair mod.
PM me ASAP if you see a mod error or a rules break. I will do my best to fix things. I guarantee fairness and non-bastardness.
3.
Do not pretend to break the rules.
I will treat this as actually breaking a rule.
4.
If your account is not listed, do not post in the game thread.
If you post from the wrong account, I expect you to correct this ASAP.
5.
When dead, you may have one game-irrelevant substanceless "Bah!" post
. Do not reveal any information or otherwise post once you're dead.
6.
This game is a commitment.
Please treat it as such. If you need to go V/LA, just let us know
in bold
and mark it in your profile. Otherwise, prods will be issued every 2-day period without game-relevant posting. If you don't respond or I keep having to prod you, I will replace you.
7.
Play the game.
"Prod-dodging" every 47.9 hours does not constitute treating this game as a commitment. I expect game-relevant posts and reasonable activity, and will give warnings and prods to players that do not appear to be playing the game in good faith.
8.
Every phase will last (number of players alive + 2) real life days.
If there are 5 players alive, the deadline is 7 days. Extensions of up to 2 days for replacements.
9.
Voting
: Use the vote tags (
VOTE: Mathdino) or the bold tags (

). Misspellings, shortenings, and abbreviations are okay.
Broken tags won't count.
Don't test my willingness to count your vote.
10.
Unvoting
: Use the unvote tag (
UNVOTE: Mathdino) or the bold tags (
Unvote: Mathdino
). You do not need to unvote.
11.
Majority rules
. Protections/lynches will occur upon strict majority. Soon-to-be-dead players may continue posting in a "Twilight" phase until I lock the thread.
12.
Plurality lynch
: Plurality lynch will occur if there is no majority by the deadline of the Lynch Phase. Ties between lynch wagons will be broken based on which wagon's most recent vote was placed first. No Lynch is not an option.

Remember that as mafia is a social/debate game, it's okay to attack people's play, but it's never okay to attack the person. It's just a game. Play nice.
