Fwiw, my conspiracy theory at start of day 3 was Icon/Datisi. But I was kinda embarrassed because that didn't really make sense with how the mass claim eventually went down.

because the impression i've gotten is that wicked still def wasn't 100% on me being town
and saying this here pretending he is was baiting the possible scum in luca/emps to kill me so he removes a suspect the next day
It honestly wasn't bait. When I wrote that, I was thinking that if Ico flipped scum there was no way I could ever vote you the next day. I wasn't 100% on you being town, but I was confident enough that I'd bet the game on you being town and wanted to work with you.
Also, dang I didn't realize you were setting alarms to respond to me. I kinda felt bad about pushing both days so close to the deadline like I did. Sorry about that.
In post 2755, Alduskkel wrote:Can I ask what the point of Mafia knowing about the Backup Tracker being? I mean it's not going to affect who they kill, just who they have perform the kill.
In essence it puts Mafia on an even-or-better footing with the Town on the question about whether there's a Tracker. In this game it played out very oddly. First, the Mafia team elected not to kill the Friendly Neighbor they knew about Night 2 in favor of killing someone they believed to be the Tracker. Second, the Mafia team had information that I would have expected to lead to a Tracker fakeclaim in massclaim at 2v3 lylo, but that was not how it played out. On the other hand, the Mafia killed Alduskkel believing him to be a PR - and while it's true that he was functionally Vanilla himself, killing him was essentially the equivalent of killing a Town PR in this setup. Overall I was pleased to see both teams work around limited knowledge and misdirection in this setup, which both reviewers believed was slightly scum-sided. It was impressive to see the Town win despite that and despite losing one of the only two directly confirmable Townies Night 1, before that slot could be confirmed by the Night 1 Informed. The game was based around the potential for two hard-confirmable Town slots with no way to protect them - but on the other hand, the Mafia team had no direct power besides the nightkill, which made the later stages of the game a real challenge for them.

Datisi - well done on your performance. Even in LYLO I only felt slight paranoia about you, because you played so well throughout.
Icon - your play on D1 and 2 was great, and closely resembled your Town game. I won’t TR you so easily next time! I felt you could have been a bit more ambitious in LYLO though, given Wicked wasn’t really SR’ing you for most of the day.
Pops - you did a great job replacing into the Wimpy slot. I felt bad for going along with your lynch D2, but I couldn’t get rid of my paranoia of your slot by any other means.
Aldu - it seems you were tunneling me from beyond the grave! I was gutted to see you were killed N1 after I received my result, as I knew it would be a hard job selling my claim after that.
Alim - you did well considering your lack of experience, your tone feels relaxed and natural. Only thing I’d advise would be to push your SR’s a bit harder as you were quite passive in your approach at times, although I was guilty of the same on D2 I guess.
Wicked - I respect your considered approach, and your case against Menalque, despite being wrong, was still one of the best posts in the game imo. Apologies again for losing my patience with you a few times as you were obviously willing to listen and reconsider your view, but it didn’t seem like it at the time.

I feel bad for you man
I will straight up disregard all reason if you have a PR dream again. You can come back and be like, “I dreamt that Locke is a N2 Bulletproof Multitasking Cop and Self-Targeting Doctor,” and I will go, “Okay, Locke kill it is then.”
Thank you Luca, and likewise! I can't say that during Night 4 I wasn't starting to feel paranoia, but if I'd survived I most likely was never voting you.

People told me this after my first couple of games, so now I'll pass it along to you: while having good reads is important, being able to get your reads lynched is much more valuable
Menalque, following the saga with Wimpy I think your reads were good this game, continuing into the dead thread as well. I think I might have reconsidered my vote on you D1 if Datisi had more time to talk me round, but in hindsight scum were never getting lynched D1 anyway. Your sorting of Aldu turned out to be pretty good, as he was probably on course for getting lynched before you managed to read him correctly.
Emps: he was elusive this game, and until the lolhammer of Pops he did a good job of staying under the radar. It was hard to tell if the continuous catching up was a scum tactic or genuine. From D3 onwards it felt like he gave up a bit, but his doc claim was actually pretty decent and kept him alive for at least another day. His tone felt pretty good which I guess is why he was TR, but the complete lack of content was a giveaway in the end.
I still think one of the Mafia's bigger mistakes was shutting down the IconvDats 1v1. I thought Icon had a decent chance of coming out on top there, especially with Wicked suspecting a Luca/Datisi team. (also i was genuinely looking forward to it rip)
Also can't wait to read the PT

Yeah, I think I read Icon saying in the dead thread that the NK’s left him nowhere to go in LYLO, but Wicked actually thought it wasn’t Icon/emps specifically based on the NK’s.
I also think killing Datisi N3 was a mistake as a) it removed a potential distraction and b) was a kill that made more sense coming from emps than myself. When I saw the NK my first thought was ‘that makes things a bit simpler’.
Wicked: "why are Luca and Datisi pushing an Icon/emps team? That team makes no sense to me. I think this is a Luca/Datisi team."
scum!Icon: "...yeah i basically had nowhere to go in lylo"
Also am not a fan of being called a ~distraction~, though it very much would be accurate. I was also semi-surprised by being the NK.

"scum!Datisi and scum!Luca attempt to kill Wicked, scum!emps no-kills" was my ~mechanical solve~

In post 303, Menalque wrote:Also if I’m scum I think I no kill? But if I do kill I kill in (Luca, emps) because why would scum!me ever not kill outside of the bracket?
But realistically I no kill here like 80% of the time maybe more if I’m Luca!scum or dats!scum
if it's emps, he has to either kill datisi or no kill
because killing in your bracket means you are lynched
and if you no kill, then luca insta votes you and you have datisi who *probably* also votes you
if it's emps I think it's optimal to kill datisi, have a 1v1 with luca and go full wifom on Wicked who has the deciding vote
but what do i know, and that's only if it's actually emps
Nah man, I disagree
If you’re emps and you’re scum then you gotta act like you’ve been set up all game for the game winning mislynch
So for instance, in the case of emps!scum having to go against datisi or Luca, why would you ever kill Luca? Likewise, from dats!scun pov, who would she rather go against, emps or Luca? Probably emps. So you can argue that you’re in what is an optimal endgame for scum!dats but very clearly not an optimal endgame for scum!emps
Then you make some bullshit argument about PR distribution being off if you’re not the doc, and about how dats seemed a liiiiiittle too happy to vote icon for what weren’t super strong reasons and would have been game losing if she’d been wrong — argue that’s out of character for her and tmi-y
Then you play off wicked’s suspicions about her sitting back and playing along with the most popular nislynch choices, as well as her seemingly overconfident on my flip being town, plus me being someone she’d want to pocket
I think you’d have a better chance there than with Luca
