clearing a bunch of players immediately because of one scumflip is exactly the sort of thing people do whenever there's a day 1 scum lynch. and these conclusions are often wrong because they're formed from such a tiny sample size. so the town collectively gets overconfident and starts treating these conclusions as gospel as the game goes on, getting off track instead of redoubling their efforts/stopping to reconsider after failing and being handed a townflip.
if you're town, you're being far too quick to make such conclusions and you're running a high from Frost slipping and all of the delicious info you now have. unfortunately, this scenario is actually worse than a scum lynch, since we even lack the complete wagon information.
if you're scum... well, it would explain why i'm disagreeing with you all of a sudden.

pedit: admittedly, i hadn't considered that you're rushing because you have a strong belief you're going to die. if that's the case, however, then why post 457? don't you want more than an hour to do your analysis before you leave this world?

don't get me wrong. we have a scum dead, essentially. that's not bad on its own. it only means we need to maintain the same level of analysis we had going in instead of getting all happy with ourselves because Frost slipped and insomnia's the one who caught him.

the more i think about Frost's slip post, the less i believe you could be bussing him, though. so it's probably the first scenario. i do still wonder why there's a need to rush.

you were already scumreading Alch, so when Frost is confirmed scum, you look at Frost's post and say "Frost must be scum with this guy, you don't make a post like this towards town". i say i consider it evidence in the opposite direction, and you tell me i may as well make the conclusion that Wimpy must be town if i'm going to think Alch is town from it. i read that as you dismissing my opinion outright in a jokingly comparative manner, but now i'm a little concerned you actually think that if Alch is town Wimpy also must be town, full stop.

, and i'm not saying you just ignore flipped scum or confirmed scum on day 1 or what have you. i'm saying to be critical about it. if i thought i was 95% going to be nightkilled i wouldn't be telling everyone to gogogo with the lynch if there's analysis to be done.
and on a larger note it's a call for the rest of the game to avoid becoming complacent. i've always been a somewhat amusing proponent of the "day 1 scum lynches are bad", theory, and i'm frankly excited to now be in a situation where its ramifications can be tested.

Try seeing if your mental map of how a wolf would approach that situation if you had the information he hates playing scum and is self-aware. It’s much more likely you’ll say stuff like that it your partner is scum and use it later as an anti-spew. If he decides to push on it, fine, it clears someone in the end. If he doesn’t, you have post-flip analysis and you come out with that post and say “See, I also suspected Alch”

I don’t see him saying that as a self-aware knowing that Alch is gonna flip town at some point, the same analysis I made on Egix.

He also said that, saw Alch didn’t want to push him (presumably) and then he said he town reads Alch to distance from that accusation.
