Dungeons of the Sorcerer King

"You fools!" cried the cornered sorcerer, "My minions are numberless!"

The paladin smashed the zombified ogre backwards, cleaving its misshapen head from its shoulders in a flash of steel. The druid, in bear form, leaped through the air and tackled its counterpart, bearing the ogre to the ground and rending it limb from limb until the disparate pieces ceased their unliving struggle. Into the gap stepped the cleric, raising her holy symbol high over her head and intoning words of banishment. White, holy fire blazed into being from the rotting limbs of the skeletal horde as one by one they were consumed in a vengeful inferno. The ranger stepped up beside her and bent his longbow, sending the obsidian point of his arrow deep into the left eye of the demonic beast that had been sending spikes at them. As the line began to disintegrate, the warlock waved his hands at the infernal cultists besides the throne. Her eyes blazed as she called down a hex on them, and the wicked men broke and ran.

"Is that so?" replied the cleric as her party mopped up the remaining undead, "It seems you're down to four - no, make that three. And two...and there's the last one now." The battered, bruised, and bloodied adventurers gathered into a grim line before the sorcerer's throne. The druid shifted back into his stout dwarven shape, taking up his staff to brandish at the evil mastermind, and the ranger unstrung his bow, drawing out two slender blades for the final confrontation. The sorcerer only smiled, a sinister grin which did not touch his eyes.

"All according to plan, my good heroes!" The sorcerer cackled, "But I assure you, this is not the last you've seen of the Sorcerer King, Boonskiies!" Mad laughter echoed around the heroes as the sorcerer threw a lever on the arm of his throne and vanished down a trap door, the passage sealing behind him. The door to the chamber slammed shut, and the weary adventurers could hear similar bangs and clicks throughout the vast dungeon as traps reset, accompanied by the roars and chitters of fresh monsters being released to terrorize them on their doomed escape attempt.

congratulations boon! <3
this was an absolute blast to assistant-produce (did i ever end up getting that promotion i was gunning for? :P)

well done to the players, too. it's rare to see a game of this size truly go down to the wire. so many players put in an absolutely brilliant effort, and the 3p win was thoroughly satisfying and well deserved. everyone who played a part in this gets a high five in spirit.

Oh. :) Cool!

Glad it was so well received, but let me tell you, 30+ private threads is not fun to keep track of.

I have a sequel to this game in the works, not sure when I plan on running it. I have a lot in store modding wise. I’ve been modding about 16 months straight, so I like to mod smaller games in between my big ones!

Mod a BooneyToonz game people, I’ll backup-review even!

Also, the flavor for the award is fantastic.

Thanks! I'm seriously considering running an actual short D&D campaign based on this premise. Inside-out dungeon, partially-depleted, battered heroes, survive to get to the surface.

I like the sticky fruit role a lot
"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"

It’s one of my favorites. I initially created it in a game that didn’t use it well, so I thought it was meh, but then I’ve used it in multiple games since then, and every other time it just makes me really happy to watch

Pretty sure it was the regular Fruit Vendor that became Loyal and an OP powerhouse.

StickyFruit got your team a free mislynch from confusion of sticky fruit and regular fruit.

That was fun to watch
