I wouldn't say unsatisfactory. That's a bit too strong.

Unrelatedly, it would be useful if more of the people that are town started making it obvious :]

It's probably pretty scumsided. But it should be mitigated by the nightlessness.

I guess it's slightly less because of judgement day scum wins.

I imagine it's quite significantly less. Might be a nice exercise to calculate.

Also it can't be the most scumsided approved open setup, because Stack the Deck still exists.

You're not repressing your adoration enough to be Enter

Actually thinking more there's another factor canceling that out, which is that judgment days cause more people to be sent to hell than to heaven (a judgment day essentially replaces a heaven phase). Might make a monte carlo later (mostly out of laziness) but class is almost over so alas~

ANYWAY.

Amrun's vote on me does not sit well w/ me.

There are only like 2 people that i even want to call town and i don't even have good reasons for them. This needs to be fixed.

I wasn't aware of Stack the Deck. I could easily believe it's more scumsided than this but I think that's nontrivial to ascertain (even though it trivially has poorer town EV).

Apart from the raw simulated probabilities of winning, having three baddies manipulating a nine player town is a much stronger social deduction dynamic than something like 2:6 nightless which is also at/near 50%. So I think this setup is pretty remarkable.

I have played against 14 townies with only 2 nightkills in a mafia trio before, playing a setup against half as many townies is such a different game. It is wild that people are going to look at both setups and shrug and say "close to even, roundabout right" when they can't both be.

I would point out that to implosion that this setup's special mechanic wrinkles the idea "nightlessness balances this out", partially. I agree nightlessness townsides setups in a way not reflected in the EV, but this setup has a half-night, where in heaven phase we are going to be removing players somewhat similar to ones that would be nightkilled from our game and discussion. It's not as bad as a nightkill, since in our ignorance we won't remove someone strictly for having a correct three card solve, but I think obvtowning is correlated with being an asset for sorting so it is a culling that hurts the town similar to an NK

Danni flor do you want to discuss your opinion on the balance of this setup

Assuming this is asking about the vote not sitting well, it feels quite like a "look like i'm doing something" vote. I don't really like the sidestepping of engaging with me after my comment in .

Clouds of smoke don't require moisture, they are primarily gaseous. I solved this game, will you sheep me everywhere now?

How is that a sidestep? I explicitly said I did not have a hidden agenda voting for Elmo. Your insistence and assumption that I did is what struck me off at all. If you didn’t see what you assumed I saw, why vote with me at all?

Thing is I don't see that vote as a not doing something vote more just to turn the heat up on the game a little. I wish more were here for the moment but I don't think we're going to get that.

Right now the hydra confuses me but my read on them tells me that we're fine at this moment and justification. If anything I wish there were a few more chiming in.

I was being facetious, and was at least trying to be obvious about that.

I do actually scumread elmo, though. Not strongly or anything. I didn't really like her RVS, the post above this one is also just a bit... meh. It's not really advancing the gamestate at all to just say that the hydra is confusing her, though of course I understand the annoyance w/ people still being afk from the game.

Meh, I'm not feeling scum on pops, he seems uninhibited with his posting and is more active. While activity itself is not enough for a confident townread, I feel like town wins by townbloccing here, and communication helps parse that. Since there's no NK, there's no reason to withdraw townreads for fear they would be killed, and he was the first to act on one with

UNVOTE:

I also liked the vote because it's not surface-level, which indicates a drive to solve.

Give me a townread S_S, and perhaps some thoughts over less vocal people {Looker, Elmo, Homura, Phi Kappa Phi}

Also prodding said people within the brackets

This is a new 4p hydra. I'm familiar with playing with my other 3 heads in OTHER hydrae, but not altogether.

So we're a bit messy as all 4 of us each have playstyles that are a bit different from each other.

I'm kind of waiting for all my heads to start giving out thoughts and reading more critically, but I'm open to answering questions you have. I can speak for myself.
