it's likely an effort to downplay the hell out of your play in an effort to make the achieved scum lynches look a lot easier than they were. just makes a kind of steady discomfort in the gamestate and works back against a good chunk of that town cohesion/camaraderie they had from the b2b scum lynches.

look at S&W - this slot wasn't even in contention for town unless Ali made an effort to disrupt cohesion.
