ilu ame

this is the second time in a row where the deepwolf has gone down in heaven 1 in this setup and town has won the game by just ignoring their asses and crushing PoE

I think scum in this setup have an unconscious tendency to priorities "scoring points" (town to hell; scum to heaven) when realistically ur wincon is doing one or the other: outnumbering heaven or having an early unsolvable JD

interested in someone substantially smarter than me offering their thoughts

i have to be honest i really didn't think amrun would flip scum >.>

in my heart of hearts i was ready to like, selfvote and tell elmo to vote me so that we could force me to heaven at deadline if looker and pops weren't willing to and gosh. the stress of imagining it. I was really scared of having to decide between pops and looker.

I felt like I was lynching a day1 scumread on day5 of a game so I understand the impression that surely the game wouldn't end.
With Looker and Elmo townspewing the PoE from my point of view pointed at implo a lot, sorry implo
Ame I love but also maybe don't love and I will never trust again

It is a little bizarre that Ame towncased Looker so accurately and showed so much of his work that it made me feel more willing rather than less willing to continue to townblock him. If it gets her heavened every time, maybe it's worth it? But also many players that are more feelings oriented or paranoid in style might not have responded the way I did and wanted to punish Looker for the glass-in-front WIFOM.
S_S did a really good job drawing things together onto STRQ.
"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"

I'm going to note here since people may not have considered this, but it's true that by EV standards, the scumteam have the advantage.

However, if the scumteam are put on the back foot early on in the game, it becomes extremely hard to recover from it compared to a normal game. This game is hugely momentum-based and it's generally the alignment that gets the advantage early on that tends to win if I had any guess on it.

The alignment that gets the advantage early in what sense? Because I mean, we helled town and heavened scum the first two days. Certainly scum had the advantage early. Town just got good collective reads as a result.

you can't just look at the concrete results to judge this

town definitely had the advantage after hell 1 because heavening two scum after that phase was a very tall order

I'd even say that the fact that Ame being heavened was gamewinning for town is evidence of that being true tbh

if you treat "the advantage" as less-tangible i.e. control of the gamestate i agree strongly w alyssa
if e.g. strq had successfully bussed amrun d1, strq/ame could have been heaven'd b2b
even if we'd misheavened, that duo could likely have caused a really messy judgement day

which beckons to the point i made earlier - a point scoring mentality over an holistic mentality can be absolutely deadly for scum in this setup

actually I did make a plan to have the order be Amrun -> STRQ -> Looker -> Ame at one point

but I think I abandoned that before I could detail it anywhere because of gamestate changes

the way day one turned out was very hard to find a winning plan with

tbf a non-zero amount of my problems when playing scum is that I come up with all these ideas when I'm not in a position to write it all down, so I tend to lose big chunks of it by the time I actually am
