also I feel like the argument against me for being inactive is a pretty bad one, considering that sometimes people have more time to play a game than other times.

Also, if you remember my first game on this website, you can see that that game and this game both have 30 something pages of posts, and I have about the same number of posts in both games...

activity shouldn't really be used as a basis for scumreading someone.

why shouldn't it? the only benefit to inactivity as town is it allows you to be inactive as scum in other games and not have it be scumread. thus it's scummy.

because what if you just don't have as much time for this game as other people
or what if you don't have as much time for this game as you usually do

So the reason I have a null read on marashu is because he did do some things that are towny, but there are also some things he did that seem scummy. For instance, there are a few posts of his that appear as though he were posting only for the sake of posting.

because you're getting out of your way to defend him but don't townread him
but feel like you're actively trying to prevent people from voting him

i'm voting marashu because:
1. inactivity
2. iioa (information instead of analysis)
3. very little follow-through in their posts. like they ask a lot of questions but they dont' seem to go anywhere. one thought doesn't track from one post to the next. there doesn't seem to be any consistent pov that's directing their posts or questions
4. their opening was bad

1 is a bad reason bc I just explained it
2 while he has made some posts that are iioa there are also other posts of his that are analysis
3 is probably associated with his activity. Let's suppose you were on V/LA for a few days, and then the game totally changes when you get back. The last posts you made could become irrelevant to the current situation. (If not completely irrelevant, it might still be pointless for you to follow up on your last posts because the situation has changed so much).
4 well I feel like his opening was not as bad as people think.
Like the main reason people disliked his opening was because of this:

In addition, I don't blame him for taking the mason claim seriously. Some people are just used to seeing power roles claim day 1. For instance, in epicmafia games all the power roles claim immediately, and sometimes power roles could be the day 1 lynch. On epicmafia I got reported like 6 times for "gamethrowing" for not claiming power role the minute the game started.

I think the way you're pushing me makes me feel like you're trying to get me to vote someone and not think too much about it.

Because it's good if you have reasons for voting someone. You might agree with someone that a particular person is scummy, but you might have a different reason for voting him.
Also a mafia could just sit around for the whole game and just sheep people to hang some random townies if he doesn't get hanged.
