I think votato's playing objectively a bit badly but I don't see it as more likely to come from scum than town, the 'flailing' just seems like him being irritated and reacting to Puppy's vote.- votato

Now that you've demonstrated you only reach for low hanging fruit sometimes, I'm liking Puppy's case more.

When puppy called him scum for pretending to scumhunt, his response was "fuck off!"In post 274, Gammagooey wrote:

So I expected something not terribly different from that when I insinuated that he might just be town pretending to scumhunt.
The fact that the dig was present in both cases, with the only real difference being that I called it null (which is actually more insulting, townies who pretend to scumhunt are not exactly paragons of skill) made the different reactions intriguing to me.
I think it's fair to infer he made a conscious decision here to look past the dig specifically because I was defending him. Which makes Puppy's case that he is reaching selectively, rather than as a matter of playstyle, more compelling.“There is nothing so dangerous for anyone who has something to hide as conversation! A human being [...] cannot resist the opportunity to reveal himself and express his personality which conversation gives him. Every time he will give himself away.” -Hercule Poirot- votato

Or more likely, i saw it as candid and not a dig. Like i said, its too early to have the game solved. If you think you do, youre probably wrong and should reevaluate. If you still think so after reevaluating, please let me know so i can ignore your reads for the rest of the game.In post 279, Blair wrote:

I subscribe to the bizarre notion that I can hold opinions now and actually adjust them later as the game progresses and I acquire new information.
You seem to be implying that we shouldn't be making any serious pushes now because we don't have enough information yet. I am sympathetic to that view, because we certainly don't have much information yet, but it's a bit of a catch-22 situation because... we need the serious pushes to elicit the serious reactions that procure the information we need to make more serious pushes in the first place.
So unless you're suggesting we wait until Day 2 and hope there are power roles that can solve for us, I'm going to carry on.“There is nothing so dangerous for anyone who has something to hide as conversation! A human being [...] cannot resist the opportunity to reveal himself and express his personality which conversation gives him. Every time he will give himself away.” -Hercule Poirot- Gammagooey

eh
I see your point but I think him reacting to someone coming into an argument on his side with anything remotely like 'fuck you too' would have been much weirder
like the only situation I imagine a 'real-life' argument where someone went up to the person you're arguing with, disagrees with them on your behalf but makes a slight dig at you, and they say 'screw you too' is drunks in a comedy movie
I have a hard time thinking that it's more likely he intentionally looked past the minor dig than just missed it entirely
pre-post edit: and votato has basically just said that so shrug- Quick

This. It's too early to have good reads so I'm gonna hop around for a bit and point things out. By page 100 i should have a good grasp. It's not like anything anyone else has said is very substantive. It's page 10 or whatever. In post 262, Blair wrote:

You need ONE HUNDRED PAGES to have a decent read? This is one heck of a scummy cop out post that reads as nervous scum latching onto the first decent excuse someone else provided you, while somehow also dismissing all of the definitely-substantive content which already was post.

And that votato is not one, but not for that whole "he didn't lash out at Blair for the extremely-mild-sort-of-criticism!" argument some people were making
Need to evaluate—is votato dismissing all of the reads contributed to this game thus far just as a knee jerk reaction to people scum readinghim alone, or was there a major push against a 2nd scum as well?- Nauci

Hi all! I’m back!
I’ve read and re-read votato’s interaction with Puppy. I don’t know how I feel about votato. I’m not sold on Votato being scum. I can see Puppy’s argument but I think Puppy was pushing votato on his vote and votato provided some reasoning (whether or not he was fabricating reasoning is the main issue) and pushed again and votato attempted to explain his reasoning until the infamous “fuck you” post which was a reaction for the accusation of “fake scum hunting.”
From this interaction, I do believe Puppy is town as Puppy had his vote on Atarashi when votato voted. I don’t think scum!Puppy pushes back on vote agreeing with his position. Scum!Puppy would be more satisfied with a mounting wagon on Atarashi.
That brings me back to votato and whether I think the Puppy/votato interaction is TvS or TvT. I lean TvT as of right now.- Quick

I would not put much stock in me voting with/against anyone. Never have done that.In post 220, mavsfan41 wrote:Quick’s timeline is strange. Votes Blair in 191 (sheeps NPOM’s vote in 189 on Bair). Then little development and Quick then votes Atarashi 20 posts later citing posts made BEFORE his Blair vote.
Read progression here is strange to me. And the Atarashi vote piggybacks of Nauci’s posts throwing suspicion on Atarashi. This strikes me as a diversion where Nauci’s 207 points to Quick’s sheep vote and Quick is trying push the Atarashi read from Nauci’s posting. Quick just ISO’ing Atarashi to appear to have justification in a vote here.
The timeline is -> Quick votes Blair. Nothing really develops. Nauci pushes Atarashi (Quick does nothing). Nauci then points out Quick’s sheep. Quick then votes Nauci’s other scum read with forced reasoning imo.
@Nauci - that was annoying and I was fighting with autocorrect the whole time to not screw up people’s names. - Quick
