Why the pressure on the newbie? Kinda of a dick move to let him get his toe in the pool before beaning him in the nuts with the ball.
This post does not come from town

You’re either trying to pocket tuxedo or trying to defend a scum partner

Tux hasn't had a chance to catch up yet, so when Gib voted that slot to l-2 I balked. Osuka said that my balking never comes from town and that I'm scum for doing that.

10 posts later osuka calls for an extension to the day, to let the replacements get caught up.

Why say I'm scum for saying the same thing they did, but in a different way?

i mean that's just in thebest interest of the game. I've played games as scum where the game stalled and I won, but there's really not a lot of fun in that. kinda defeats the purpose of playing the game

there's nothing inherently wrong with defending a sub - or a newbie, for that matter. the problem is with how you did it and how you handled it after someone else disagreed

asking for extra time is also most definitely not the same as defending a slot simply because someone just subbed into it. nice misrep though

You asked for time so people could catch up, I said that it was shitty to vote tux to l-2 because he hadn't caught up.

How are those things different?

The person being voted for had stated they weren't caught up yet and needed more time.

You asked the mod for more time so the replacements could be sure to catch up.

How are those different? You're trying to play a sematical word game with me right now while avoiding the meat of what I'm asking.

If you want to quibble over specific words while dodging the question that is a choice you could make, but be sure that people will see you deflect and dodge.

i'm not quibbling over words. I'm saying that what you did and what I did aren't the same and particularly, the
way
you did what you did and handled yourself when prompted was the primary reason for concern

to elaborate, 758 is weird but it is an order of magnitude retroactively more weird after 762

Because it's a deeply anti town action and against Newbie atmosphere which affected more people than Lilith and was not at all reprimanded at the time. It's impossible to know if Freddie is genuinely afraid of interacting with Formerfish or if it's a faked reaction because there's every bit of genuine reason to do feel that way.

It's not derailing if the point is to prevent it from happening again; my worries about derailing was that the rest of the game might be like that

I'm like pretty dang afraid of the game stalling; the one newbie game I ran was a total nightmare of replacements because of 2 aggro players driving everyone nuts and the extensions I gave for replacements to catch up were excessive and everyone lost interest

It was agonizingly pulled to the finish line

So with nearly 3 days left, I agree that deadline should stay where it is, but I don't think we should lynch in the next 24-36 hours no matter what

@tuxedo: does your reads list rearrange at all once you factor in the things you maybe misinterpreted?

Rereading the game start/RVS (through post 111)

Ok, so my general line of thought is that scum, especially newbies playing scum, are going to be cautious more likely than not.

gibus and votato seem much more comfortable playing than freddie. As in, they're more willing to post off the cuff than freddie--who seems naturally reserved/getting used to the game. I think newer players start off overthinking their posts a bit (tone tends to be calculated/forced neutral) and grow out of this as they become more comfortable. All this to say: Freddie seems reserved/cautious, but I don’t think it’s scummy.

Feathers has to be town right? If they’re scum, they were being coached because how else do you explain post 76 and [quote="In post 83. Even then, I don’t think scum would want to attract that much attention to their partner.

I *do* get brassherald’s issue with feathers, because they seem almost too good to be true? Like straight up understanding none of the rules and stuff like post 111 where they’re like “oh I’ve been reading guides on how to play!” They seem so eager…and then they replace out? But only my slot suspected them, and that wagon wasn’t going to gain traction, so it doesn’t really track that scum!feathers would replace out. Town!feathers makes more sense.
