My SO is trying out to be on Jeopardy this week, which is like the most exciting thing ever for a trivia addict, so I'm going to prioritize helping him prepare for that over MS through Thursday

My buckets are as follows:

Town - Formerfish (most scum hunting in the game, IMO, even if I don't agree with their conclusions sometimes), gibus

Prob town - votato (Past the IIOA phase of their posts and before all of the replacements, the 2nd most scumhunting participant here)

WIFOM Hell - Osuka/Ironcat/lililili (I will explain this on Day 2), Lilith (as many posts that ping me as town as ones which ping me as scum and I've resigned to just sorting on Day 2)

Need to Reinvestigate based on FF/votato's reads plus new content - Freddie, CopyKat/Tuxedo (rn I still think this is scum, and also that it would be the most informative lynch we could do)

and lastly, the strong scum read where there hasn't been much in the way of new data to convince me otherwise -

that was wayyyy too long ago for that question to be super relevant. but it was their interactions. I didnt buy their fight as TvT. They seemed to be agreeing about a lot of reads, and I didn't particularly like their reads. that suggests orchestration. Fish has since said that his posts were somewhat intentionally scummy as a gambit. If anything that makes lilith even more scummy since her posts agreed with someone who was being scummy on purpose.

The scumreads on me and fish didn’t really go anywhere though, like he didn’t actively engage with either one of us or even copykat really to further develop the reads, and he didn’t really “go after” anyone in terms of hard pushes, so it seems he is playing the game at arm’s length. I think wavesarc made some good points - I don’t see a lot of pushing or gamesolving in votato’s posts.

This is the summary.

votato says he is scumreading people but makes no attempt to engage with them directly to develop his reads, he even says he needs more content from copykat to develop a read but then doesn’t try to get more content. So he’s not even trying to develop his reads. I don’t think this requires a particularly high skill level to do. If he was scumreading me and fish, why didn’t he question us about things he found scummy? If he says he needs more content from copykat, why doesn’t he interact with that slot further to try to understand copykat’s perspective and develop a read there? These are all things that town!votato would be actively doing in order to develop his reads and progress through the game.

well you're making two separate claims here. 1) i havent hard pushed anyone. 2) im not engaging with my scumreads.

2) i havent done much to engage any particular scum read. but i have made attempts to engage with quite a few different people. let's not take the "im not doing this at all" from point 1 and apply it to point 2. i have tried to engage a few people, but ill freely admit that my efforts have been somewhat limited compared to some other towngames. this isnt what my scum game looks like though. compare my posts here to my posts from GNR day 1 after my exchange with farside. its probably similar content.

I was townreading brass pretty confidently, but wave im much less sure about. I'd be very happy with an osuka lynch, that slot has not gotten better with age. Tuxedo is still pretty scummy too. I could compromise on a wave lynch, but its second best.

With that said, as I have prior stated; if you look at my early postings those are made in such a way that is going to illicit responses from people. It is a way to get out of RVS pretty quickly and seamlessly because people either get it and stay away from me, or they dont and they engage. I can then slap and poke and prod the people who lashed out at me because I know im town and they are either misguided town or scum looking for an easy push to look town.

After i try to sort those people I can then look at the people who stayed away from me and what they were focused on instead, because they are either town i need to work with and sheep or they are scum who know that im town and knew that pushing me would be a bad look for them later on when I flip green.

Normally I don't let up on my shit day 1 because I have a safety net in someone who knows me and knows how i play and can stave off some of my attackers or at least give me a leg to stand on thats not my own.

Come day 2 we can use the flips we got off the lynch and the nk, if one occurs, and use the info i got from day 1 to lay out some pieces of the puzzle that this game is and we can start to figure out what is out of place and why. Also we let our prs do some work and they can help us out later on.

Compare my early posts to the ones I have been making in the last 2 rl days and tell me that they are the same. Look at my iso and tell me that it is devoid of content. They are night and day different and there is more content in 25% of my posts than in most newbie games.

I have laid out very simply my reasons for why I think people are scum and some players are picking up what im putting down, while others are handwaving it away saying that they can read those people later. Why lynch tomorrow those that we can lynch today, my granddaddy always said (wait, that sounds wrong, im from Massachusetts so we didnt hang people)?

The Tux case is stale as fuck and it was never really a good case to begin with, i could quote Vota saying that exact thing, but im lazy and just remember it happened.

We should lynch between Wave/Gib/Freddie for the highest chance to lynch scum, and if we miss we get a lot of info because of interactions around those slots with a majority of the player list.

brassherald -> I'm neutral because he hasn't posted much and I don't like how he voted copykat for hopping on the wagon (I found copykat's reason sensible) while he hopped onto my wagon because my posts seem "off".

im not very convinced that tuxedo flips scum though. i think thats not a bad lynch because of information gained (there are a lot of meaningful interactions around that slot), but i dont know if its worth the chances of a mislynch there. that slot currently resides solidly in nullread limbo for me
