Moar tryharding...In post 49, Poyzin wrote:Okay whatever Teacher can get back to me about #44 but I want to finish my takeaway of GB.
To me, this looks like GeorgeBailey is haphazardly throwing shade at Teacher without needing to commit to a scumread. They through out the possibility of Teacher being scum for a reason that’s NAI for the purpose of sowing doubt in the town. They say that they were trying to “prompt a reaction” out of teacher, and they elaborate here:In post 17, GeorgeBailey wrote:I'm hoping you're not scum again since you aren't asking those questions. I think I've only ever seen scum use them.
However, based on the context of the first post, the second post does not make sense as GB’s response. The first post is obviously not a joke but a statement saying that they hope that Teacher was town. Therefore, by calling attention to the fact that Teacher is behaving similarly with their opening questions is only stated to manifest suspicion of Teacher and turn the focus onto him without having to do the legwork and find things that are scummy about Teacher. In the end, it would have been impossible to do so, as at the time Teacher should have very much been null due to the game just starting, so calling attention to something as “maybe scummy”, especially when they stated that it’s too early to tell whether Teacher’s line of questioning was an issue or not. It seems to me as if GB wanted to plant the idea that Teacher could be scum early on without having to pursue it any further and let Teacher react to it, when any reaction that Teacher could give would have been WIFOM at best and completely unhelpful at worst. Because of this, it seems to me that GB’s initial intent was to take a hands-off approach to the game, letting this run their course after provoking others with potential scumtells that aren’t really scumtells. This play style is usually done with malicious intent.GeorgeBailey wrote:I wasnt expecting a static response. If he took it too seriously I would think that'd be scummy since I've seen scum act super defensive before over dumb tongue in cheek jokes.
As a lesser but still impactful point, I also disagree with the town points awarded to Quick. For one, giving town points is in no way townie in and of itself, and there were already problems with Quick’s hasty rationale. However, GB giving town points to Quick after a total of 1 game-related post by Quick is already enough to raise alarm bells. I feel comfortable moving my vote out of RVS and towards someone who has a good chance of flipping scum.

That's with nervous wrecks it's like they're asked to step up then contaminate and transmit nervousness
generally speaking it's a false assumption to consider the three experienced players to be either together as two, one a part of two or none of them a part of two as they are individually are just one
likewise pozin is singled out because he's back since a leave of absence does not make him newer than everyone else, I agree with his statement to fear who tries to be too active (since the start quick and georgebailey account to half of the posts)
townie points aren't gained or lost it's just perception from confusion and spreading what you tentatively know, want to know or don't want to know
since town is under threat therefore too much confidence or too much nervousness, just as too much posting or not posting enough does not reveal any information without a baseline- GeorgeBailey

@poyzin - you’ve repeatedly mentioned spectators, why?
I found 72’s spurt of posting interesting. I liked the willingness to antagonize quick (or perhaps better phrased, to not humor the antagonism). But I didn’t really get or feel much in the way of sorting or contributing - just presence and posting for presence. I had somewhat the same thought from Jumble, but it felt more fluid - like genuine posting while skimming. Idk how to word it, but while the content leaves are the same, the tone is a bit different.
I liked marus one substantive post, but want more. I didn’t like Gibus’s unvote. And QQ townreading people for townreading him feels like genuine newbishness, but I would like a link the game that made you nervous of lolwagons, please?- Quick

No, my point is that YOU are Scum because you have shit arguments for why I am "Null....lol"In post 139, Poyzin wrote:
Okay never mind, this is much worse than what was being posted before. This is pretty clearly defensive, but anywho, the crux of your argument is “I’m not scum here because I played completely different as scum in the past”. If you played the same way as scum every single game then I’d be sorry for you, and I don’t buy your “check my meta to prove my towniness” for a minute.In post 130, Quick wrote:
How about no? How about you check my Scum games to see how I play as Scum? I am strategic as Scum and I get lynched a LOT as Scum, but my record as Scum is actually BETTER than my Town record. My wiki is right THERE check it if you doubt me.In post 127, Poyzin wrote:To elaborate, #113 felt less defensive from my perspective and more testy, like “bet you aren’t going to vote me”. I don’t think it’s townie not a productive mindset, which is why Quick is still a null read for me, but I’m pretty sure this was his plan all along. I’m only saying this because I’m townreading you for now and have been the person that I’ve agreed with the most, so I’m just letting you know how I see it.

Do you even know what the word null means?- Poyzin

So I can make open predictions and general comments that aren’t addressed to anyone. Also it’s fun to do.In post 171, teacher wrote:@poyzin - you’ve repeatedly mentioned spectators, why? - Poyzin
