Shading is one thing, Discrediting is another.
Discrediting someone isn’t just making them look bad but rather saying that it should be ignored completely. It’s like When someone does something and someone says that what there saying is fake. Making it as though your post shouldn’t even been read.

When it comes to the chain I think there's benefit in giving to people you scumread, this may seems backwards but you're putting them in a position to commit to a read either way. If people are just throwing the chain around like hypothetical townblocks this can become an issue if the townblock is incorrect

Sure. I’m not quite sure how you play FM and that is an important factor when determining someone’s alignment.
It’s quite possible your Playstyle does include lots of shade.
But some of it just feels like scum indicative.
