For scum flair to be true u have to believe:

I don't think alienate is the right word, but I certainly want to interact with as many of you as possible. If that's alienating for you all, MS is soft.

I don't know any of you outside of Blair and Clair so I have no idea who is better than who, or whatever.

I find sharing reads and thoughts to be most useful on D1 because it creates accountability. And if your friend FB is to be believed when he says "wolves like to avoid drawing attention to themself always," then by villagers posting their thoughts in their entirety, doesn't that make it increasingly difficult for the wolves to contribute meaningfully and control the narrative?

I want to know what everyone thinks because the more everyone posts, the more the wolves stick out. If you're all resigned to not explaining your reads it gives wolves an excuse to do the same.

For what it’s worth, I’ve come around on FB being a villager. For today at the very least.

His Clair case turning around into a giant “IDK” shows intent to force a narrative. It felt natural. And the evolution (and explanation!) if his read on me when FL suggested I was a wolf, helps as well.

That’s all I’ve been asking for, a glimpse into FB’s thought process and reasoning, and I’ve come closer to seeing him as a villager.

Clair’s taunting after the fact I didn’t like. Looked more like a wolf taunting a villager for slipping by, than a villager attempting to resolve FB’s alignment.

@Claire - I am someone who’s been vocal about pushing FB this game. And I’ve reassessed. Have your thoughts changed after his entire progression? Do you believe he is a wolf who tried to push you, as a villager, and couldn’t yet stays put? Doesn’t add up in my mind.

All I see is a player who seems to care about the game, but not enough to read the game or participate meaningfully. It’s been almost three days, when can we expect him to catch up? He’s using his ignorance as a method to push me, and his logic, if you can even call it that, is horrible.

I think that’s a huge waste, D1 provides the most natural reactions and interactions because nothing has been written in stone as nobody has died.

But if that’s the case, I’ll learn to play within those confines. So long as no one (*cough* FB *cough*) presumes I’m alienating players just because I ask them to share as many thoughts as possible. I’m engaging with as many of you as possible because I care.

Something is confusing me about Blair: If she was sitting on the information of her interpretation of my actions this whole time, why vote now? Nothing has changed except me asking her to clarify.

When you asked me to compile my lists of player behaviors, the act of doing so helped me recognize Gobbles was a higher townread than I had realized.

When you asked me to elaborate on the names in my Fake Scumhunting list, the act of doing so helped me recognize you were a higher scumread than I had realized.

It's kind of like the phenomenon where votes start moving around more right after a votecount is posted. Compiling information in one place often leads to reevaluation.

pop quiz everybody: without checking, can you tell me who gobbledygook is voting for right now? do you remember any of the votes gobbledygook has made in this game? if no, why do you think that is?

He is voting for ABR. Before that, I know he has moved it around 3-4 times but I can't say where with confidence without checking. As for why that is, I will admit many of his posts have been forgettable - which could be indicative of trying to blend in, but it doesn't outweigh my townread on him. It's something to watch for moving forward, for sure.

In this case I am not using the term to mean you are ignoring other people (which you have demonstrably not been doing) but to mean you are ignoring other types of evidence - i.e. you made up your mind about Firebringer based on your very first interaction with him, and most of what followed after has looked like confirmation bias.

At the time I am writing this you appear to have meaningfully reevaluated him, so that's good.

This schtick is getting old. There is plenty of nuance here, and there are plenty of powerwolves. Don't let him fool you there. Catch Albert in the right mood and he will admit he has been known to be such a player himself.

I feel like you aren't trying very hard to understand what Firebringer was saying there (which more likely tells me something about your opinion of him as a player than as a slot). He wasn't saying you were being mean or anything along those lines, he was saying you have been relatively aggressive with most players, which brings attention to yourself - our brains interpret whatever is focal to be important, which in this case often results in scumreads.

He's saying that there is a certain (pretty common) type of scum that avoids doing what you are doing, and he has ruled you out of that group.

Flairs post on the top of page 2 pinged me as scummy, like he was trying to hard to show he was being helpful. That's why I voted for him in my rvs vote. I also thought 553 was kinda scummy. Very low scumread overall.

His scumread on me not answering him when Sakura pointed out I prolly hadnt even read it (I had but that's not the point) is also really forced. I was gonna put my vote here but I'm not going to for now cos I am not up to date and dont wanna hammer or put him on l-1 by accident.

I've also got in my notes that 322 by iamusername was dishonest. I cant remember what that post was and havent checked unfortunately but I will soon. So that's why I said I scumread them.
