I'm curious about the newbies' past experience with Mafia here. Is this your first game? Did you play on another site first? Have you already played a game with anyone else in this one?

I played somewhat frequently for a while, a few years ago, on another site where mafia was more serious business than here. Or maybe it's just that the days were shorter so the levity lasted less by necessity? Either way, I'm still getting used to all the jokes, the in-site references and such. That was a one-way-ticket to lynch-town where I used to play! XD

What do you find in post 26 that is scummy? To me, it looks like they're agreeing with you that gibus made a post that was a scumclaim.

Post 27, on the other hand, is pretty scummy. The reasoning of simply wanting "a bigger wagon" seems opportunistic.

I’ve played several games on another site, and I have two completed games here, one town and one scum. I’ve also played with piisirrational and Homura in a game that’s still ongoing despite all three of us being dead.

Well, as a result of being utterly fooled by someone I was certain was town on another site recently, I’m a bit hesitant to townread anyone at the moment... and I still feel like I don’t really have a clue what I’m doing. But just look for people who seem to be genuinely contributing and trying to solve the game. It helps if I’ve played with them before so I have a better idea how to read them.

I haven’t read the thread in as much detail as I’d like. I have no reads off the top of my head, I’ll go back and see if I can dredge something up.

Well, there’s nothing wrong with RVS-voting someone who claimed scum, but it does seem a little suspicious that so many people jumped on so quickly... although I’m not sure what scum gains from RVS bandwagons so it’s probably NAI.

...I’m still not sure why you decided openly claiming to be scumbuddies on the grounds that no actual scumbuddies would be insane enough to do that was a good idea.

pedit: It’s either town genuinely trying to read me or scum trying to pocket me. The former is more likely, but paranoia. (Also, I really need to get better at mimicking my town meta as scum if I’m that easy to read.)

It’s called Giant in the Playground. I can link to my games there if you want, but most of them are role madness with private networking allowed so may be kind of hard to read without context.

This post just bothers me. I get its NAI and your vote is RVS none the less but I mean even then you don't think that scum would just instant wagon or toss a vote on there knowing fully well that its an easy wagon that could have been hammered less then 5 pages in.
