General

-Do not use encryption, hidden text or excessively small text in your posts.
-Do not use any form of provable randomness. This includes dice tags, screenshots of random.org, etc. Saying you flipped a coin is okay, providing some sort of proof that you did isn’t.
-Each day phase will last for 12 days, with night phases lasting 24 hours.
-Do not post in the game thread or any private topics following your death, with the exception of the dead thread.
-If you have the ability to edit your posts, do not do so.
-My decisions are final. If I feel you are violating any of the rules, I will take the appropriate action.
-As a general principle, whenever moderator action is required I will attempt to make the decision that has the least impact on the natural flow of gameplay. For example, force replacing instead of modkilling whenever possible.

Voting

-All votes and unvotes must be in

bold

or in VOTE: vote tags, with vote tags being preferable.
-Votes in spoilers will not be counted.
-Abbreviations and nicknames are acceptable, as long as I can understand them.
-Lynches will occur when a majority (>50%) is reached. If no majority is reached before deadline, the player with the most votes will be lynched. Ties will be resolved by wagon seniority. If the day ends with no votes cast, a random town-aligned player will die.
-Once a hammer has occurred, the game is in "twilight". Discussion may continue until I lock the thread but no further votes or unvotes will be counted.

Activity

-You are expected to make at least one game-relevant post every 48 hours. Players who go 48 hours without posting will be prodded.
-Given that the nature of this game makes replacements extraordinarily difficult and game-breaking, if you go 96 hours without posting, I will be forced to modkill you. Please don't make me do this.

Game Mechanics

• The Mafia team this game is composed of one person controlling two accounts.
  
• This game is One-kill Mountainous. All players are Vanilla, and the Mafia may perform only one nightkill the entire game.
  
• Night phases will last for 24 hours and may be ended early at the Mafia's behest.
  
• Anti-Alt-Claim Mechanic:
  • At any time during the Day, the Mafia may privately guess as to the true identity behind a Mask.
    
  • If the guess is correct, that player will die.
    
  • If the guess is incorrect, the Mafia must choose one of their accounts to die.
    • For the very first guess only, this risk is not incurred – if the Mafia is wrong, they will not be forced to sacrifice one of their accounts.
  • Upon any death by this mechanic, the votecount will reset, and if there are less than 24 hours left in the deadline, the deadline will be extended by 24 hours.

Mask Reminders

• Avoid altering the settings for your Mask account. This includes changing your password, enabling sitechat, disabling hidden online status, and changing your profile picture or signature.
  • This does not include altering your time zone settings or your board style, both of which you are free to change.
• Please do not use your Mask account for purposes other than this game.

In a remote village in the Romanian countryside, there exists a manor. A creature resides in this manor. The creature has resided there since long before even the oldest of the villagers were born.

Each year, a masked ball is held at the manor to appease the creature. This year, however, the villagers have had enough of living in fear. Donning their masks, they vow that this ball will be the creature's last.

But the villagers must be wary, for the shapeshifting creature assumes forms just as their own – and any whose masks slip will be met by its horrible wrath.
