Anyway, if kuribo entered this game trying to be tranquil, I think he's less likely to instantly break out the not-tranquil mode as scum. I think he said somewhere that as scum he replicates some of the rage that is normal for him as town, so he'd probably manage to not lose it for slightly longer.

I like his proposed alternative plan to NK's, and scum doesn't really have much motivation to try to argue with a plan that would probably lead to exploitable Town apathy, especially not when doing so involves challenging an IC.

There were a couple of other recent posts I liked as well, and I think Town really needs to present a unified front in this game, so I'm fine letting him be Town unless he does something else that raises scum flags.

Sure, but I don't really see it as a huge revelation that will affect scumplay. If there was a scum lurking and they decide to pop in and dodge the inspection, that's just going to look way worse than if they had played it cool.

Honestly, I don't know myself. I guess it just gives me peace of mind that it probably WAS just a meaningless joke, and not either the literal worst possible move for Town to make or a crazy scumstrat made to look like that.

Alternative plan that is actually fun and still avoids killing the TD by accident: we vote people up to L-2 after which people can place a “faux vote” (I propose using hurt tags)

The first person to get to 9 is “executed” and we repeat the process until another player is “lynched”. NK gets to choose between the two as to who we really execute

This plan seems good to me.

Ok. The PA claiming here (which I suppose is real, otherwise the real one would CC and we net a scum) is not a good thing for town in the long run. Townreads now must self sensor. It's not enough just to suspect someone is scum but that read must also get past NK15 gatekeeping.

This would be ok if NK 15 only had to block one lynch but he cannot do that without screaming someone is the TD.

So we're left with halfbaked plans of trying to force two wagons on day 1 just to have disagreement to cover NK's tracks.


All of this interrupts innate scumhunting. It also makes VCA meaningless. Why would anyone feel threatened before a second wagon unless NK explicitly endorses it is ok?

Read Menalque's plan again, Titus. We play normally with the only difference being replacing the L-1 and hammer votes with HURT: votes. Once we've "lynched" two people, we let the shipmaster (Not Known 15) decide on who we really lynch of the two.

This is actually preferable to playing normally and accidentally wagoning and driving a lynch on the Tomboy Daughter, because that would be an autoloss then if the shipmaster mysteriously decided to out and veto that lynch suddenly.

Oh, wait, I just realised the Tomboy Daughter could technically claim shipmaster if driven to L-1 and that would be fine too, but it still gives scum a 50/50 on that person if it happens.

This is a common gripe with unkillable town. Scum know exactly where they need to play around.

This same problem made T v A immensely hard for me and I didn't have to force town into wagoning two people at all.

Again, I didn’t want to do this but NK forced in by outing. It is the best of a bad situation in that town still gets to make meaningful decisions about who to lynch but we don’t run the risk of the autoloss

Ideally, NK agrees to flip a coin to decide UNLESS the tomboy daughter is one of the two (obviously)
