Why is it tempting, clarity?

Early game wagons are fun, good way to get reactions from people on and off as well as the target. (also I'm kind of just being impatient and wanting *something* to happen that we can talk about - like I said, my usual games are a LOT more fast pace)

Hi Ouroel, a couple things for you.

1) Please get an avatar, it makes it much easier to remember who someone is (the visual stimulus)

2) Please don't openly discuss in thread who you think PRs are. If you're town its giving scum more info and it makes sense as scum trying to garner reactions to get more info.

Anyways, why do you think all the people who haven't voted yet are scum? That seems like a stretch.

Putting aside the PR-hunting elements, what do you gain from voting someone who isn't here? The mod's stated that they're being replaced, so it's not like they're actively lurking or anything. It's better to put your vote somewhere where it'll actually make an impact.

Well, a few players still aren't here. Content exponentially increases the more players we have. There's still plenty we can get started with now though.

Yeah, I can see why that might be a good scum hunting strategy in ToS. Why do *you* think this game might be different in that regard?

man i remember the good times. while playing a town killing role, i can claim town cop and vote someone up instantly and his reaction will tell me EXACTLY if he is town or mafia. then either town lynches him and goes "wait WTF" or I get lynched and reported.

favourite role has always been TKs in salem, that way if they end up not lynching I will just shoot him and he will turn out to be Godfather/Mafia member/whatever. then Town was always like "WTF this troll was right"

honestly, the only thing different about this game would be the vastly lowered number of power roles. i guess that creates an atmosphere of suspense around power roles, but then I don't feel bad exposing them in salem cause power roles and mafia behaviour overlaps a lot over there. i guess the replace feature would probably help, and I don't know if this is operating on a higher ELO than Salem and their savant towns.

it's the weirdest thing ever. in ToS the optimal strat (for winning one game) is to be as obnoxious and abrasive as a town killing (esp. town jailor, who has an execute) and just shoot the guy when he makes ONE mistake. It gets you reported though.

Sure, there's some overlap between PR and Mafia behaviour wherever you are - neither of them want to die. I was thinking about this more from another direction - In ToS, there's about 10 minutes from signups to end of game, so people are usually going to only join the game if they'll be around for the whole thing in one block, meaning anyone not speaking is *actively* choosing to not speak. Here on the other hand, where games take place over multiple weeks, inactivity could just come down to losing interest or just a schedule that means they can't talk in the first 48 hours.

First off, I agree no poster wagons are a waste.

Second, still think clarity is town.

Third, there’s a touch more nuance here because we don’t want to hamstring ourselves by Outting prs- only scum want to hunt for them. There’s one other role that also would want to but I’ll touch on that either post-massclaim or endgame.

Sometimes finding a pr is useful, but the priority is finding someone from their reads and interactions. Im.also weird and like to read pages backwards, as it's easier to see any weird jumps of logic/interactions/reads.
