really dislike this post. "I don't think you should be townread" in particular is a phrase that feels distinctly scummy to me, there's like an undertone of bitterness to it, like DrDolittle is annoyed that people have correctly identified Hoopla as town for reasons that DrD finds erroneous. In post 289, DrDolittle wrote:even if you are town, how do you know scum players haven't thought about your line, and have players like you in the lobby to provide them with free defense?
independently, I don't buy this line of thinking, and I don't think you should be townread for suggesting it.
it's like a funhouse mirror version of 'you caught me for the wrong reasons'.
& i feel like S_S has acquitted himself adequately. the post that originally bothered me makes more sense knowing he was describing 67 as a 'plan' and not talking about Hoopla's initial entry. his eagerness to jump into theory discussions where, as scum, he doesn't have to lie about his true feelings is still a little concerning, but he's hardly alone on that front in this game.

you realize that scum have an alternate way of getting rid of townread players, right? Instead of just spewing their dislike about it in game?In post 353, iamausername wrote:

what I don't understand is that you come to a scum!DDL conclusion based on said 'bitter underlying tone', which I think comes from town as well, for exactly those reasonsRawr!

I didn't like that post either, but more so because I disagree with the first sentence. The doc is drinking too much paranoia wine.In post 353, iamausername wrote:

nah, there's definitely a tone difference between "i think you guys are wrong about town!Hoopla" and "i know you guys are right about town!Hoopla but i don't think your reasons are valid".In post 358, Iconeum wrote:what I don't understand is that you come to a scum!DDL conclusion based on said 'bitter underlying tone', which I think comes from town as well, for exactly those reasons
i'd accept the premise that i might be reading a tone of bitterness in DrD's words that isn't actually there, but if it is there, it's definitely scummy.Elapsam semel occasionem non ipse potest Iuppiter reprehendere- Iconeum

okay okay shitty wallpost catchup yes???
first of all, my Super Secret Scumread was hoopla. the issue i had/have with the numbers and that post where she said she doesn't wanna go GC/username/word (yes i skimmed ahead before making this wallpost don't @ me) is that the three info points are (1) positions on draft, (2) numbers picked, (3) singleton/double/triple which like... (1) and (3) can vary widely based on what the townies pick, while (2) is solely a scum choice. (yes i'm aware the fact that scum is coordnating means (1) and (3) have *some* weight but it shouldn't be nearly enough, since they are basically a consequence of (2))
and the fact she said she'd prefer to go for top draft/singletons here is making we uneasy because if we were to go by (2) scum would actually be pretty low in this game's draft so like... then my mind started to wander and think maybe her team did pick something like 1/3/4 and got fucked and now the only chance of winning is getting the top draft town PRs executed but like idk if i want to commit to my tinfoil hat just yet
@s_s i saw you say you think hoopla's town for pushing unpopular opinion, can i get your take on my tinfoil here
~
in the one pyp i played before (so small sample size etc) cop checked the 1st in draft on n1 so i dunno? In post 226, Hoopla wrote:winning top of the draft actually kinda sucks as town since you're a magnet for interference. whereas scum in top slots can wreak havoc becausetown's tend to leave them unchecked out of fear.
~
i kinda don't get why people are giving townpoints to green for calling out the gypyx thing... like i read the explainations and i Don't Get It. i liked the fact clover also said he got wolf pings from that slot but then he said he's liked word's intro so i guess mindmeld with clover is over
~
277 from umlaut is making me uneasy... like making my bones shiver... my spine doesn't appreciate it... are you scum umlaut??? i don't know. i don't like this post. i can't pinpoint why. it just feels... off... hmm...
more?? mindmeldy townpoints?? to drd for 292. echoing tw's questions in 299. moooore mindmeld with drd in 302???
~
i heavily *heavily* dislike thisIn post 304, word321 wrote:Either way, from scum or town, I think effort wise Hoopla is definitely inclined to town, and my hoghest tl; the point was that scum can cast the same argument without the enormous effort (and possibly fun) of revolecting and analysing data, wich is more likely of someone who wants to genuinely look for tips on where scum is
townreading someone for effort like that is a very dangerous game and makes me think word should know better?? like there's a decent reason why scum in pregame would want to collect data (and the last time i played pyp, scum did indeed enter the game with "oh hey i checked out some previous runs") soooo ehhhhhh

re: 345 duck's reads
i don't know if i like or hate the fact that i can be obvtown or easy to read :/
i feel like our reads are otherwise more or less Similar hmm
@duck, can we talk about green? i'm havign trouble getting the townreads there. eli5 pls.
~
i'm getting weird vibes from username
@username, do you have any townreads or something? i think you've only talked about scumreads so far (other than s_s getting better i guess)

I'm obviously not sure either. But I'm really struggling to see what scum-Hoopla hopes to gain from this. I don't really think that the smartest way to profit from doubling up as scum is to double up and then drop the stats immediately and announce that scum definitely didn't double-- in particular I thought the part where she announced that a double could only have occurred if she was scum was fairly towny. If she's scum, it doesn't help her if she doubled, and it doesn't help her if she didn't double, and it very well could get her pressured for trying to execute PR's.In post 335, the worst wrote:but this is a fairly neat observation. i'm not really sure hoops does anything different as scum though really? i don't know her super well. i can understand why this is a positive observation fypovShame on a martyr claiming friends

I don't follow it. She hasn't posted the number distribution for town, so there's no justification for a push based on number picked. In post 369, Datisi wrote:@s_s i saw you say you think hoopla's town for pushing unpopular opinion, can i get your take on my tinfoil hereShame on a martyr claiming friends

you don't follow my train of thought or...? i mean 313 seemed to be starting a push for certain players over others based on draft, no?I will straight up disregard all reason if you have a PR dream again.
