When I saw you'd made some posts I figured I'd have some new questions for you, but I don't, at least not on these posts. You set sail with your second post in the game, and have hewed close to that course ever since. This is an observation, not a criticism!

Does this opinion still hold?

Also, for what it's worth, my least favorite people so far are Archer, Lancer, and Rider, since I feel like they have the worst signal-to-noise ratios so far.

I may be wrong, but I get the feel that some players would like to end this phase pretty soon and move on. I don't think we'll need to run out the clock, but in an activity-restricted game I hate to give up pages.

If you mean my predecessors second post, no. I don't find zerker townie really. I'm not sure what they say that caused them to bemoan the lack of votes.

If you mean mine, yes. Are you opposed to receiving the master? Shotgun to the back you would be my vote at the moment.

More cautious than opposed. It's always cool when shiny buffs come my way without seeking them out because I'm just that towny. My hesitance is more about whether I can step up and be what the buff will demand of a player. If it came to me, I'd do my best. And we'd learn how well the mechanic works in a consensus-builder's hands.

Picking a hero may be a better way to go.

In seriousness. I don't think whoever we elect as master is obligated to be some sort of mega town leader. You're an IC, you're unkillable for a night, you get to master-ize others. I'd say that's enough responsibility to be going on with.

No, I just don't really intend to hash out reads with people. If I think something needs to be asked, I'll ask, but I'm fine just trying to solve the game in my notes PT for a while.

If you scumread Assassin so hard how about you do literally anything besides vote him as master to flip him?

Because I don't need to? What would doing that achieve in this phase?

If this were a normal game, I'd probably try to get rid of Archer and Shielder before him anyway.

My point about not voting your scumreads is that I'm pretty sure mafia wants mafia elected, and town wants town. I keep seeing the argument that the game should be balanced no matter what happens but that's not the same as the outcome of the first phase of the game not being important. That's like arguing that because a normal game should be balanced around a PR possibly dying night 1, it doesn't matter if they do.

Also, re:post count, I know it's limited but 60 pages per phase is a lot if you just don't spam.

2. Nah, that's just me I'm afraid. Once altarego told me to be transparent in my thoughts when I could afford to be, I pretty much started saying everything I was thinking with a little editing and repositioning of sentences for clarity about those two. You can see it in my internal explanation of my day 1 early posts too.
3. Unfortunately I'm at that intermediate stage of own play where I try to see every angle of plausibility and what I end up with is a wishy washy read of people.
@Berserker, Not serious about a town block, yet anyway. I pretty much assumed it was a, as he put it, spanner post and looking where everyone else is going. I could use your vote tbh. I think without inevitability on my side it will be hard to get me off the ground.

While I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility for scum to understand the set up with some help from Cabd and then strategize from there, I don't see much other than assassin supporting this pov. I think more scum members would give this idea credence if Berserker was scum here tbh. I don't think ruler went back to read it even with my recommendation though.

Glad you have a click'd moment, I would take that energy and spend it elsewhere because engaging with Assassin further if you're town is not going to get you anywhere.

I don't think I've read one post from Shielder yet. No read on Beast, Archer I would probably lazily have my vote on if this were a normal phase.

Shielder hasn't gotten into the game yet, but I'm not surprised they're finding it kind of overwhelming. Mech talk aside, talking to a bunch of faceless and nameless players is making it hard to look at big picture things for me too.
Also, scum can obviously still do this but making the mechanics clear to a player that's obviously struggling is still just a good thing to do. Scum do it because it's an easy way to objectively benefit town, not because it's a scummy thing to do. I remember Archer not liking Avenger's explaining things to Shielder, but given the obvious benefit to to the mechanics being understood by the whole list, it's a weird thing to pick on.

It's a concise laundry list of the things that clash for me about Moon Cancer's approach to the game. It's not just a playstyle clash. I think it goes deeper, into differing philosophies about the game, and fundamentally, different personalities and strengths/weaknesses that have led to those playstyles and philosophies.

Although my reaction to post 464 was an immediate thumbs up for verbalizing what I've been thinking, the post itself isn't alignment indicative. I think anyone, even someone who agrees 100% with Moon Cancer's playstyle and approach, would be able to write this list just based on looking at some player reactions in this thread.

And further, the playstyle itself isn't alignment indicative. For me, it's harder to zoom in on alignment indicators in their posts due to the style clash. And I want to give some room for them to play the game the way they want to play it and think about the impacts their stances and behaviors could have on the outcome. It may not be as easy for me to see it in a playstyle I don't entirely get, but their play will still try to advance their win condition.

I'm running on a severe sleep deficit today. I hope the above post makes sense.

I like the way beast talked about their TRs on me and Avenger, I guess. I'll get back to this because I want to see how a thing goes.

Archer, you mention a lot of posts (ex Alter Ego's) and with Moon Cancer with your 469 that you say feel like busywork. But a lot of your own comments are also just neutral questions or statemejts. Like, in 433 you just say "good point" to something. What's the difference between scummy busywork and just casually saying words?

Ruler - I had this whole thing on how it sounds like youre using real identities way too much in a game where that isn't verifiable, but if you're bringing it up like this at all I'm probably not going to be able to convince you to stop with one post.
But I do think your tinfoil is actually tinfoil, like not the self deprecating "I know this is wild but I do actually put some stock into it" sort of tinfoil but the really out there tinfoil.

Assassin? Curious what gives you off vibes about them. I'm actually curious for some elaboration on Alter Ego and Avenger too.

I'm holding off on discussing my scum reads (see previous post). As for Avenger, their initial stopping of that mechanic claim at the beginning of the game was town to me. They stopped foreigner from fishing by asking them to carefully read their role and consider their actions, seemed town to me. They don't like archer, that's town to me. Best read I got for the moment. I'm willing to vote it.

This is a very townie post to me. I guess if beast never follows up with scum reads then it means nothing.

But I just think the paranoia and pointing out "haha I won't play the game". Is something scum wouldn't want to do but it's also reasonable for town to do following his line of reasoning qhere I am not reading it as a scum misplay.

I am not sure if I am putting too much weight into this but I just really like it. The whole fishing reads out now thing is just such a town thing to say lol.

This is an objectively correct play to make. When I become confirmed town, I'll die soon enough anyway, I'm not claiming the rest of my role, and this part of my role cannot be stopped.

I don't know anything about FGO, but there's a comprehensive wiki and I imagine at least a few of us actually do.
The more you claim about your role the easier it is for scum to figure out who's who.
The most important thing is giving the master to town and not scum, not for everyone to start comparing their roles to each other to try and figure out who has the strongest one.

Why does scum need to figure out who is whom?
