glork has a strictly positive legacy on site. a lot of users have mixed legacy onsite, somehow those users didn't get cancer; i have never heard anything negative about glork. In post 2100, Bell wrote:That is a sad story.
iI am sad I only played one game with Glork, but I am extremely glad I played more than zero games with glork, and more than zero games aligned with glork.
he was a very very proficient player.

Biggest indicator I want to give you is that as scum I feel the need to be relatively consistent and have quite unchanging reads. My progressions are gradual and you can see how stuff is changing, albeit very gradually. You can see this in Your Nightmare, or my Replacement for Sujimichi game off the top of my head.
Here I have multiple sharp turns in reads and progressions all over the place.

I don't know that Glork was a major proponent of playing every game like it's your last, to be clear.
It's a concept I've heard, and adopted, indepent of him
i just know he did play a game -as-his last
it would not be fair to project beliefs onto him he didn't hold, maybe he felt for people who could assess their own life expectancy at ~20 years he thought playing a meta that maximized future wins was good, I don't agree with that view but he would be totally entitled to it and it wouldn't be a view I would disrespect/condescend to.
I just feel more invigorated about my pet view about playing every mafia game like your last after knowing he played a mafia game as his last is what I am saying/said"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"

I'll mail you Shadow the Hedgehog. Look, I know guns in a Sonic game is unusual but the game has like 16! different endings. You're basically playing real life at that point. In post 2110, Isis wrote:

Why is it obvious you're not scum in this game?? I think it forces people to improve and adapt their town-meta into their scumgame, so I think it's actually a good thing for improving it.In post 2105, Morning Tweet wrote:

I'm not super confident either way on GLIn post 2042, Isis wrote:
sure but then why doesn't she immediately re-place her vote? She waited for several townies to claim didn't she? the explanation would be GL is partner?
i agree it's not the kind of thing you would completely base a vote on
i just have found town indicative things about every other slot
and idk if I understand why GL vs. Ydrasse isn't a false dilemma- Farren

Does she, though, in a no day-talk setup? At least, if her partner is last in line to claim and could theoretically counterclaim? In post 2038, Dunnstral wrote:Ydrasse assumes no cc because she knows I'm town
That'd be another piece of evidence that it's not Ydrasse|GL. If GL is her partner, she can't know there's no counterclaim coming even though she knows Dunnstral's town. The only way she knows there's no cc coming is if GL is Town as well.- Farren

Self-meta is best used when desperate, whether Town or scum.In post 2081, Morning Tweet wrote:Tea do like, a tiny lil self meta case
Like when Bell said "I would never go out of my way to give my scum partner a hard time upon entering the game where they're not even under any pressure. I'm just not that kind of player"
im a sucker for that kind of defence despite it burning me at least once or twice- Farren

And this would be a good example. In post 2086, tea leaves wrote:But self-meta is so valuable for you two read me in future games. Maybe my philosophy should be to play every mafia game like it's the last though?
Biggest indicator I want to give you is that as scum I feel the need to be relatively consistent and have quite unchanging reads. My progressions are gradual and you can see how stuff is changing, albeit very gradually. You can see this in Your Nightmare, or my Replacement for Sujimichi game off the top of my head.
Here I have multiple sharp turns in reads and progressions all over the place.
At face value, this is totally logical. Scum do frequently value consistency, because there's this picture of scum being willing to eliminate anyone that isn't them or their partner(s). So to counter that impression, they have to look like they're actually trying to solve, and as a result they have to approach it more ... methodically is the best word, I think. While Town can be all over the place. Mind changing twenty times a second. Is this it? no, that's it. Wait, what about this?
Self-awareness at least *can* destroy it, though. Knowing that trying to be too consistent is a trap as scum, so instead of trying to emulate logical progression, instead going for trying to emulate chaos and confusion.
Backsliding into old patterns can sometimes reveal scum. But then you have to consider the possibility of consistency being the point of actually reaching that moment of clarity - the point where the chaos *stops* - and it's all obvious. The answers, laid bare.
And then half the time it's wrong.
I love this game sometimes.
And then trying to judge this takes on extra levels - like, if it were unprompted, I'd lean scummy. But it wasn't unprompted; it was specifically asked for.
It feels honest. That's the best I can do. - Farren
