Silent Star 2: Menagerie

[Loki Dokie]

As the tiger and cheetah stare each other down, a faint growl emanates through and pierces the tense silence. The tiger frowns and after giving the cheetah one more look of disapproval, turns away to investigate the sound. He soon finds the source of it. Spoiler: [/spoiler] This Milktank looks like he means business. He uses a Defence Curl , seemingly readying himself for the tiger's attack. The Tiger ROARS , hoping to lower Miltank's defence. Little does he know, the Milktank has plans of his own. The Milktank uses what looks like the start of a Tackle , and the tiger begins to roll his eyes, but midway through, it quickly transitions into a Meteor Assault . Spoiler: [/spoiler] The tiger is launched far into the air and is sent straight down into a large cage lying in the centre of the Menagerie. The tiger is trapped, and has been condemned.

Spoiler: [/spoiler] The dragon swishes through the air, showing off her fantastic wings. She is completely unaware of what is to come. The elephant, dolphin, rat, snow leopard, and cat all look at each other solemnly and nod. Without warning, the elephant TOOTS his horn, giving the signal to the snow leopard to leap gracefully into the sky. The cat riding the snow leopard's back launches herself off as the leopard reaches the peak of her jump, closing the gap further between herself and the dragon. As the cat hits even greater heights, finally, the rat springs off her back, and makes a perfect landing onto the dragon's back. The dragon RUMBLES in rage, but it is too late. The rat scampers straight into her ear, and sends her into a panic. The dolphin clicks and she plummets towards the sound in confusion and crashes straight into the pool of water inside the cage. The cage locks shut, sealing her in, as the rat quickly and stealthily makes his escape, easily fitting inbetween the bars. Operation Dunk the Dragon was successful, and Miso the Dragon has been condemned. Spoiler: [/spoiler]

so mechanically, it would make no sense to play this out if one of those 2 wasn't scum,

so one of them is probably scum and the other town.

We don’t have a choice and I don’t know why you think there’s a connection? Pooky and Isis are the two condemned slots is all and I agree it makes no sense to do this if both are town but there’s zero connection between the condemned and the gladiate mechanic.

Spoiler: [/spoiler] As dusk falls over the land, the animals in the Menagerie realise that they've all been transformed into new forms! The used-to-be-tiger panics as he turns into a dolphin and starts flopping around in the empty and alarmingly water-free cage. This only lasts for a moment, as the floor of the cage opens up like sliding doors, plunging the dolphin into a clean pool of water. Meanwhile, a rat appears in the octopus's water tank. He squeaks in fear as he quickly realises he no longer owns any gills and is quite deep underwater. At the same time, a roaring dragon rises into the air, a collar around her neck displaying the name "Miso". Miso the Dragon RUMBLES and engulfs the tank with flames, evaporating just enough water such that it allows the rat to stand in the remaining shallow pool. He collects his breath and scampers up the side to safety. It is unclear whether this was a rescue mission or a failed assassination attempt on the dragon's part. Spoiler: [/spoiler]

i mean dont read into any of my posts. without knowing what the stakes were i was just posting. there wasnt really any reasoning behind my votes. i could try to retroactively justify my posts and votes, but day 1 i voted someone for being a cat. day 2 it was just a random vote basically. on day 2 i felt particularly like there were no stakes since the people who got voted (me being one of them) didnt face any consequences. stating who we would have recruited is pointless because as scum we'd just lie. if anything i dont trust that scum doesnt benefit from this knowledge somehow.

my vote was essentially random. i did not have a good grasp on the game but didnt think there would be significant implications for the post-restriction stage of the game. i did assume there would be some mechanic for letting at least some players post, and wanted to get to that stage as quickly as possible. dunno why everyone sheeped me, but i had no real reason to unvote.

taylor, why not hop on the biggest wagon if you wanted to get through that phase of the game as fast as possible?

Going off of that assumption, if Pooky and I were both town, Hectic would end the game early and announce that it was a scum victory. He would similarly need to end the game early and declare one faction the winner if Pooky and I were both scum, which could be viewed as a scumslip for plusJOYED not including that possibility for the sake of completion.

So he wasn't saying anything about the condemning process was guaranteed to offer a choice between a town and a scum, but that he thought the fact the game had not been concluded early indicated that it was a choice between a town and a scum.

The game would end early because town loses no matter who they eliminate.
If I was moderating a closed setup, and two goons nightkilled untill all that was left was a VT, an innocent child and a 1-shot town gladiator and the gladiator fired on the VT, I would declare the end of the game.

of course PlusJOYED's assumption that we are currently in eLo because of a bastard mechanic that makes the next elim decide the game is a really bizarre assumption. But the conclusion does follow.
