Why?

i didn't vibe with the way he prefaced his vote for Pooky. "imma start with this". Took time to make it clear it was not going to be a vote that stayed, perhaps to avoid confrontation. Counter-intuitive for town, where it's marginally better for semi-random votes to have a touch of intent. Not a huge deal, but worth a vote for me.

Its mindgames! A real vanilla townie would never claim vanilla townie, but battle mage would know that, so he is claiming vanilla townie as vanilla townie to attract scum attention. Of course battle mage also knew i would post this analysis and leak his plan to scum, so he actually isnt vanilla townie. I have to say, a stroke of genius on that simple play.
