actually slight TL on pooky right now because RQS can draw heat and calling attention to themselves doesn't scream scum to me.

1) Pandemic Legacy S1. For sure. Charterstone is a close second. I really enjoy legacy games.
2) Monopoly game nights were funnnn.
3) Does D&D count? Besides the whole "omnipotence" thing, being a DM there would be a pretty lit game world to live in.
4) So mad that I can't put a legacy game here, because they run out too easily. I'd put Scythe, because I'd love to get better at strategizing there.

1) there are some i've played once or twice that i couldn't recall but were fun. i'm never the person that owns the games, you know?
2) uh, probably just playing them with friends and us getting all yell-y at each other over it.

Monopoly is all well and good but I'm here to post about hobbyist board games because I'm a nerd. Settlers of Catan is a classic of the genre and is considered to have popularised the Eurogame, which is characterised by mostly indirect player interaction, no player elimination, catch up mechanics and a decent amount of abstraction in game pieces. Amongst a lot of hobbyists it's thought of as fun but not necessarily having aged as well as some, but for the top level competitors it has become an aggressively social game, where manipulating other players to get the most out of the trading mechanic is a big key to victory.
