I know people talked about not hyperposting this game but it feels very slow for what was a bunch of hyped players.

Also I should put my reasoning behind how I handled AG and osuka et. al. in here at some point soon while it's still fresh

I did not expect to wake up to that elim. And with minimal co-ordination through scum thread too.


My reasoning on arachnidsGrip, osuka etc.

My primary goal here is to minimise replacements for the sake of enjoyment/game stability. If multiple people are complaing that it's hard to read, there are probably more struggling who aren't saying anything. Osuka had expressed he was considering replacement and I was concerned that more people might replace. I was concerned to avoid this if AG refused to alter her posting style that after consulting with implosion it might be necessary to implement a style rule that she would have to follow or be replaced. AG agreed to alter her style for game relevant posts which I think is fair.

The whole situation felt a bit "above my paygrade" for me - weighing potentially making a statement on someone's identity and an accessibility argument which I know is correct, even if, as has been said in other threads, it is sometimes made in bad faith. I just hope I found a solution that works to maximise game enjoyment, and want to again thank ducky for all his advice and encouragement to my non-existant confidence!

Also, I don't rate Flavor Leaf's survival chances - killing a player with a reputation in a town slot that has said nothing seems like high kill equity to me

FL has said he might shoot Gamma Emerald instead and the mafia still aren't sure what to do with the doc (I think the site meta of action investigatives over role/alignment investigatives is biting them a bit) but at the moment I'm not sure I see how the Mafia win from waking up with TGP dead on day two.

Any thoughts on the game state ducky? You've played way more than I have (I really should fix that once I know what my mental block is on playing)

yeah, this could be the swing scum need - conventional wisdom says to nightkill him before day two dawns at all costs. but conventional wisdom has never been much fun!

I'm a little bit detached from the gamestate due to mostly skimming over it and keeping an eye on it from a mod perspective but it's got the flavour profile of a town win. I think the right roles are doing a pretty good job of towntelling, and I actually tend to agree with Pooky's concerns that once scum start flipping they're in a pretty bad spot.

I don't have a super strong sense of it atm but I'd say scum win probability is up quite a lot if they can swing another miselim tomorrow. but with TGP or Gamma vigged....yeah, I think they're in quite a bit of strife.

Between replacements and a lot of changes for the mafia actions this has been as surprisingly busy night, wonder if anything else will have happened before deadline. I am kinda proud I asked the innocentvillager replacements if they wanted to reconsider based on the change in game state because I feel validated in spotting the high kill equity there - I didn't want someone to replace in, read up and die without realising it was a possibility

Ok, I doubt that the mafia no kill is correct, even if the vig wasn't gonna be hitting them. Especially as confirming a maf doc publicly is more gunsmith indicative to me

No kill is nearly always an awful idea in closed setups, tbqh.
Town usually have power roles, and it's pretty rare town will keep murdering each other long enough for them to coast into endgame with clears on top of it.

I'm not a huge fan of the decision either.

FL in his element. 0 for 7 between his two scum pools (unless it's a bait - he kinda terrifies me) but in his element. Though I'd be feelin pretty good with myself if I was right on my vig shot too.

FL is amazing. Within the next 17 seconds he could enter tunnel mode on the most widely townread town, or completely correct his reads and destroy the scums. Or he could be messing with his reads to keep the vig legacy going. Always a blast to watch and find out

My only game with him I jumped in scum!his pocket on the basis of TSTBS without him having to try based on the crazy stuff I'd seen in some of his town games, it was a wild ride

In an attempt to pre-empt a question I now know if Mafia can kill their partners in a normal game.

The answer is yes if a) the partner agrees, b) they can justify why it's not a game throw and c) why are you having to ask this again?

I had a great experience with scum!FL on another site where another player quickly identified him as scum, and he spent like 3 days going through this downward spiral of the most melodramatic fakeclaim I've ever seen in my entire life. we ended up eliminating him and town won. but I almost wish we'd fallen for it and lost the game just because of how much effort he put into this claim.

most of the time he rolls town against me and mounts my head on a spike fairly promptly.i think he's only misread me once as town.

yeah that's about what I expected
I'd really insist on an explanation on why it's not gamethrowing though, don't give away any information or ask it in a probing way or anything, just make sure you stress it.

Yeah, same here. I think it's lower EV than just playing it straight, but I'm also glad to see scum thinking creatively and stuff. Best way to learn even if it's a bit vexing.

Great idea checking in with the bosses btw. I've been stung by the semi-openness of normal games before. Your intuition for when to call in the cavalry is strong!

She's definitely still welcome to see the game through, if she chooses - prodding as usual is perfect. Good thinking reminding in the prod message that her ban doesn't extend to mafia games.

Pretty sure Tayl0r Swift asked for a replacement then retracted it before I woke up too. I dunno if I should contact her to check or just trust her decision to retract it

I'd just trust her decision to retract it tbqh - I think most players know to give the mod a courteous heads up if they're gonna dip out.
