Hey everyone, welcome to bad idea mafia. You may use this thread to discuss the game. You may do so during the day.

You are the bad in bad idea. There are four of you, one will receive this PM:

You are the mafia godfather. Each night you may talk with your team and decide who to kill. You also have the ability to post in the thread

kill: player

. This will immediately cause the target to die and the day to end. You must wait 24 hours from the start of the day for each time the scum team has day killed this game. You will show up as innocent to cop investigations. You win when there is only mafia left.

Three will receive this PM:

also, judging from the text of the scum PMs, I guess it's not going to be public knowledge how long each person has before they can use a daykill. Otherwise it would be like... "okay, esurio and toogeloo each killed once, so why do they both have a 48 hour cooldown? HMMMM."

Anyways, we kill as a squad, so our CD is shared. No way TSQ would keep track of that.

It was just kinda speculating out loud, but the clarification is appreciated. <3

Also, I'm gonna propose not-me for the godfather because 1) UT has played IRL mafia with me enough that I feel like he's probably gonna be on to me pretty quickly and 2) my intellectual baseline is that of a moderately sophisticated hamster (don't let the fancy multisyllabic words fool you).

Hmm. I've been trying to postulate our best course of action this game.

Fakeclaiming cop is a poor choice because if we fake-claim a guilty on a town (even late in the game) because of the substantial risk of them being a vigilante. The only person who might want to do so is the Godfather, but even then, that's a rough decision to make (although it might still be our best one).

Thoughts?

It would be very in character for me as town to basically be like "I'm a dayvig but I'm going to be very hesitant about using my kill ability because I just want to get along with everyone and not make rash decisions based on my own probably shitty reads, uwu"

So that's probably gonna be my fakeclaim. But I don't necessarily mind if someone else here wants to get way more gambit-y.

Nah, don't say "I'm gonna be very hesitant about it". Just say you're vig and nothing more. Any wishy-washiness will be seen as weakness.

I'm not likely to be shot early. I've been gone a bit, and I really don't have many adversaries on mafiascum. I could easily make due with being a goon since I think higher profiles will be scanned before me, and cops will likely have claimed before scanning me, assuming I'm not totally obvious.

I've a history of being an idiot savant as mafia aligned.

Don't forget the setup is:
12 Town Dayvigs
2 Town Cops
3 Mafia Goons
1 Mafia Godfather

Claiming Cops seems a bit reckless for long term survivability unless you think you aren't going to be someone around for long term anyways. In which case, claiming Cop to out the other Cops might at least garner a win. Whoever is Godfather (currently Diamond) should be claiming Day Vig though.

I read it as each of us has our own day kill, not a shared day kill. If I day kill on Day 1, I cannot day kill for at least 24 hours into Day 2, however, any of you three can day kill immediately.

The cooldown is shared for the scum team.

If you kill day 1 you and all of your teammates may not shoot until 24 hours has passed the next day and following days.

This is also cumulative. If you kill day 1 and your teammate kills on day 2 no one on the scum team may kill day 3 until 48 hours has passed.
