I want you to explain in your own words why you think this is a good idea

If you're not scum then I think eliminating the players you think are scum between now and xylem increases the chances that we never get to xylem. Worst case, we still lose because you pick town to hammer you. If you are scum, then there's no way you can win this game unless two town players decide to vote each other instead of you in xylem.

Every non-novice player would say that you look at what town do and not what scum say.
It is scum’s job to look town using whatever tool available and when it counts, to do the opposite of that.
