It depends whether it was organic chemistry or not.

If it was, it was very justified.

Mostly though, I just think she asked for the extension so it didn't look like she knew there wouldn't be an extension and it was a poor gambit.
She felt like things weren't going to go her way if Pookie decided in the next few answers is my guess.

In a recent game I played Aristophanes showed up and a day action happened immediately after.
The player list noticed it and promptly speed wagoned him.
