It doesn't really make sense to me, and if their ability was so great they'd have something from night 1

Like, I understand that this is weird, but with the mechanics of the game, I think it’s best to try and link up where you can, and actively play the game at night as well, and with an additional flip, we take like three extra steps. More if Spiffeh is scum.

Does this make sense?

I feel like Spiffeh could be in that “this isn’t my scum game if i get faded, doesn’t count if i lose” mode.
