Yes and the fact that he’s voteparked on us rather than try to find the slot who took the cop thing or whatever is bad. Yeah, he kind of shot himself in the foot wrt credibility.

Only thing that worries me is that Lillith said he was lying about something but Pooky thinks we can risk it. Peta is kind of suspicious of SS though because of Dave but Dave clearly wants Mena. I will wait for him to answer but if he pushes the Skitter BoP thing again. I can nip that in the bud but don’t want to draw too much attention to that but I can if he brings it up again.

So leaning on voting Mena. Infinity doesn’t even look bad and I don’t think we’re executing Peta today. *crosses fingers* we won’t need to bus in Elo.

alright, i'm trying to shift the game into "compromise mode" and to get everyone to rank order {SS, peta, infinity, mena}

i've put SS at the top of my list with an out to compromise onto peta. i feel like there's not enough numbers for an SS elim, so this feels like a good spot to be distancing in a relatively safe way.

maybe you two in here can hold off on posting your lists, and as we see other townies' compromise lists come in, we can rig your 2nd/3rd/4th choices accordingly to help tilt the scales in our desired direction.

I’ve been pushing Mena so I can’t just suddenly do a 180. I honestly don’t think it matters which one so long as it isn’t SS obviously.

I can see arguments for either, I don’t think it matters. Besides, I think it’s probably going to be Mena based on what I’ve read. Let town cannibalize itself. There’s no need to get our hands dirty.

It’s really important that our trajectory on whomever looks organic because that’s how scum are caught, when they say things that logically contradict themselves. It’s tough because ooh Mena flip may look worse for us but on the other, Peta hard tr us, so it’s really not in our best interest to vote him out right?

I think either way it’s fine honestly. Why risk looking potentially wolfy when you don’t need to? Either one will probably come after SS in Elo, since neither suspects Infinity.

Peta is probably less likey to ever misexecute us, so we need a fallback plan if SS gets voted out instead of who’s left from Peta/Mena. Peta is never voting us but Mena might, so I think Mena is better and Pooky got the focus off of SS, which was the most important thing, right?

you have no history in the game, so trajectory isn't as important of a consideration as you think.

the main problem i see with mena being eliminated today, is that is forces those all in on mena (dave & peta specifically) to reevaluate the game in ELo. and with another phase gone by with the JK not being NK'ed, it's additional pressure tomorrow, as i think dave & peta's slots have a good chance of falling on you or SS.

whereas, if we eliminate peta today and another night goes by where mena is still in the game (despite being on EVERY mis-elim), the unresolved tension of this slot's continual survival will be maddening for a player as stubborn as dave. a mena/dave ELo is as close to a guaranteed win that you can ask for. i wouldn't be surprised if dave just votes mena straight out the gate in ELo.

the game has a much bigger risk of unravelling with a mena execution today as the whole playerlist will revealuate tomorrow. i mean, our chances are still good if mena is eliminated today, but there is much less risk in pushing through peta today (especially given it's a viable option right now). carrying the unresolved mena/dave situation into ELo is just too juicy an opportunity to pass up, imo.

Yeah but the thing is that both are 100% coming after SS tomorrow unless we can somehow shade Infinity. I don’t see why anyone is more likely to come after us with a Mena flip?

He’s backed off us so much by this point, I really don’t know if it really matters. Problem is that we push Peta and defend Mena, then they come after SS, so I think as long as that doesn’t happen we’re good. That’s the only real danger imo.

We optimally need SS to survive and pushing either slot could potentially mess that up. That’s why what Pooky dud was brilliant, he got them both off of SS and into each other.

Rn we don’t look like we have a dog in this fight and we aren’t on any one’s radar except still Mena’s but imo weakly.

Once Peta flips, he will not only be hardpushing SS but us too. Like it’s tricky, Peta is already a bit suspicious of your push on him where as Infinity is hard tr both of you.

We can’t look wolfy during the push and I think it’s unwise to risk if it’s not absolutely necessary. I think so long as SS isn’t executed, we’re good. Dave could still look bad with Peta elim but you forget we can affect the optics the way we want with the NK, so I don’t really see any reason to panic here. As long as one of Peta/Mena gets executed, I’m really not worried and neither is Pooky but if we push either too hard and it looks disingenuous, it could potentially fuck us.

Having Mena and Peta push each other is the best situation for us. I really think it’s easier and better for us to flip Mena rn. If we push Peta, I guarandamntee you Mena will likely be coming after both of us.

Imo, smart play is almost always pushing the scummier looking slot but because of Mena’s suspicions on Lillith, it’s best for us not to do anything that looks wolfy and rn no one is worried about us. You can’t just think about the outcome but the optics as well and if it was actually a big deal which one of them got whacked it would be different but I honestly don’t think it matters as much as you think it does. We just have to make the most optimal NK depending on who flips, so you just need to chill. I think we’re fine.

i agree letting the town cannibalize itself is always better, but this has already happened. like, we literally need at least one of you/SS to vote one way or another to achieve an execution. the whole town is already wrongly voting town (+BB signalling he's ready to vote one of them).

Well Pooky doesn’t think it really matters and that you are overthinking it but I’ll ask him again if I can even reach him. I think we’re in a great position now and as I said, so long as it doesn’t shift to SS, we’re good. Like are you suggesting that we try to do some fake hydra dissonance thing? I don’t know how believable that would be tbh. I’ve had that happen as any alignment but it was always organic and never coordinated. I’m extremely leery of trying anything that might scream fake.

this is the path of least resistance, and it's wide open, the finish line in sight. choosing to do something else more convoluted for the sake of appearances is literally the definition of overthinking it.

but like i said before, do whatever feels comfortable/natural to you. i'm not going to force you to vote for peta. it just seems obvious to me that a mena elim today leads to a more challenging and complicated ELo tomorrow. and since both peta & mena are on the table today, why not take peta?
