maybe i'm being uncharitable, but I'm seeing an ISO that is heavy on playful interactions and light on analysis. Why did you not like the Vax post in particular that you quoted? In post 281, Syryana wrote:Pedit: Bork, if you think I haven't done anything and moved on from shitposting since then, you're not reading closely enough.beefycheese- borkjerfkin

I may unvote if that reads list a joke or something.
Lets wagon this instead. ffiellt wasnt anything anyway.
I don’t like his take on the readslist thing and it feels like he’s shading elements who I think is town.In post 193, Vaxkiller wrote:In post 160, Elements wrote:

So, you act like there's nothing wrong with a reads list this early and also shrug it off at the same time.In post 174, Elements wrote:

I like my vote more now.
I specifically didn’t like the “I may unvote if that readslists a joke or something” which just felt... highly performative I guess? And like a way to try and get elements to back off, which is bad because scumreads at that point didn’t mean much
This also comes across as overly defensive imoIn post 202, Vaxkiller wrote:

I shrugged off the early disconnect but the positioning above just seems clueless. Going out of their way to show bravado and be aggressive while also being sure to hedge w/ letting us know it's a phone post.
Did the mentioning that these are phone posts come off as "hedging my reads" to you? That seems like a stretch. It was really just a comment on probably misspelling or typing or formatting.Individual Artisan-Style Pizzas and Salads!- Mod Pizza

I feel like I should address the elephant-sized missing data point in the room and point out that prior to signing up for this game, I spoke at length with a few folks about how I have a desire to play more "conventionally" in normals/newbies and keep my chaotic self constrained to themes.
The whiplash you're feeling is probably trying to place that and weight is vs. "Is this just scum cabd trying to look for a way to excuse treading new ground instead of his 2020 town game he knows he cannot keep up with" but obviously, you have to answer that for yourself.Have retired for good; Life is too busy to have time or energy for mafia. I mean yeah, I've been heavily shitposting, but more recently there's a townread on Mod, a townread on prism, and I'm working my way towards townreads on several others. I don't find Vax's progression on elements believable or natural; it feels like he's just cottoning onto something (namely, elements' readslist) for the sake of formulating a scumread. Early readslists are not a scumtell. Vax's 193 hardened that feeling because he's now doubling down on elements scum because elements is not hard defending a gut reads list he made on page 6.In post 306, borkjerfkin wrote:

I'd love to outsource my read of you but that's probably not going to be possible. Probably not optimal either. In post 313, borkjerfkin wrote:engagement / attempt to wade through your initial wariness / pinging off each otherAmid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

None of the 2020 comparables are good game states for this player list.In post 317, borkjerfkin wrote:

To unpack the top part a bit more...
Often times when ffery and myself are in a list and not a hydra together, day one becomes completely dominated by our posting and prodding at each other, an eternal arms race between us that's been going on seven years now.
We both semi-unretired this year. none of the games that have take place in 2020 have had a version of that dance that I would consider healthy for this player list, nor the kind of play I want to be having this game. It's not that I can't dance with her and spam it up. It's that I won't. I want to enjoy players like Prism that see a 150 page day one and nope the fuck out.Have retired for good; Life is too busy to have time or energy for mafia. It was fun~- Prism
