That's why a town perspective entering this POE-4 should be to figure out who the bad guy is and push them.

Instead Baltar's perspective is

"let's kill Pooky cuz he's an idiot"

"let's kill Pooky because even if he's town he's helping scum"

He's not even trying to find the bad guy, he's decided to autoslot Noraa as green despite having no legit reason to do so.

He's decided he wants to kill Pooky despite more or less knowing Pooky is green because Pooky isn't playing according to some arbitrary standard of goodness he's decided on.

This is scummy as hell behavior and not a town mindset at all.

This also strikes me as a representation of how many people this game are thinking.

If everyone else was townier even if only by a little bit, I'd be down with yeeting you for that super antitown play. Sure u can say it moves the game forward. But so does talking to everyone, developing SRs and TRs, and then challenging which is the optimal play.

You played poorly with that challenge and if all the options are similar and not too different in terms of scumminess, I'd yeet you for it.

Neighborhoods are inherently anti-town in a nightless open setup.

There is literally no excuse to hide game relevant information in a non-transparent closed area where most of the town is unable to see it.

You don't have the excuse of worrying about scum nightkilling someone for having good reads or w/e.

You don't have any softs or hidden role info to speculate about.

Most of the times when towns lose in open nightless games - such as Dance Game etc where everyone has a closed PT - is when scum successfully pocket a townie in a PT.

It also gives a scum-scum PT the excuse to say "oh we're solving in the PT" or "my partner is super town cuz of the PT"

If you re-orient your thinking and instead say - is it

A) Better that my game-relevant thought is only able to be seen by my partner and me

or

B) Better that my game-relevant thought is visible to everyone for full transparency.


99% of the time B wins over A - there are very few instances where A is better.
Using a PT to establish trust and pocket is 1000000% scum-indicative play and townies should not be engaging in such play.

There are 4 scum in this game, I don't know how they are positioned but if there are 4 T/S neighborhoods and each scum pockets their townie and bends their thinking in some hidden insidious way, the game is totally lost.

People should NOT USE THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS FOR GAME RELATED THINGS. IT IS BAAAAD

the only time I think reads should be kept in the PT is when they're ones that would disrupt a status quo you're not okay disrupting
this applies for ANY game with hoods, not just fully hooded games

Noraa has said she thinks pooky is town, and I can see that perspective. I said:

The only compromise I'm willing to take today is Pooky.

Everything Gamma does is scummy in my eyes but I certainly have bias and am salty about many things he decided to say.

The only compromise is Pooky who I see as a most likely town but extremely antitown player. I can see many ways where he can fuck town up by instachallenging every day regardless of his actual alignment.
